Luck obviously helps, you need the right assensions for the build you're doing and you can lose a lot of time if you get a bad area layout but it's pretty easy with ban rng to get a sub 15 run

There is a save file that reduces the amount of scrolls and weapons in the pool and uses the "pity" system to reduce bad area layouts to help with rng

Special Ammo is the lowest total count so not many shots but high dmg allowed
Sniper due to its interaction and base around weakspot hits

The knifes - which function in a similar way - are large ammo due to fire rate and relative dmg per shot
The fire tower sword is special ammo due to its heavy hit basis

Some weapons dont make sense in their classification but when you look at their mechanics it makes a bit more sense

usually you can aqcuire any of the 3 to activate but some links have specific requirements such as an ascension or type of gun to even activate

Idk, I find myself more likely to die in multiplayer for various reasons such as enemy dmg scaling or teammates being in the wrong place at the wrong time. While in single player I have less trouble going through the run without going down once on 4p lone wolf.

When enemies target something other than you, it's expected that you'd get blindsided by an attack and fall down, plus any issues with ping.

But just because you die more, doesn't mean you actually lose.

In multiplayer i feel like i can piss around with the game more than i can in single player and not feel the consequences as much

Even without the talents you'd likely die more and still get revived to continue.

But those extra deaths don't end the run, so they're meaningless.

So you're more likely to get knocked down twice and end a solo run than you are to have everyone not be saved in time in a multiplayer run.

I agree, it would be better if they optimized their netcode or make their servers. In something like CS it's possible to play with a ping of 150, but here people are teleporting back and forth

I didn't plan on doing it (playing as a cat) in the first place, but since people are asking:

When you use ability E, an icon appears above the enemy that will start blinking when the stun effect is about to expire.

When you throw the first E, you should wait as long as possible.

The second time, you should wait for approximately a second.

After that, simply spam E until the icon appears.

But as for the longer effective range than Rainbow, the constant ammo recovery, group hitting and damage bonus when using the enhanced laser, the autoaim and all that stuff was intentional.

Interestingly enough, they actually changed the damage bonus from +150% to +100%, but didn't tell anyone about it.

Yes. It's rare, but they have.

Though thinking about it, if they've done one for a weapon or scroll, they did a really good job hiding the fact.

I also think if pots don't give charge then it shouldn't consume ammo

And it should be able to detonate explosives if you pointed your reticle on them

Maybe have an alt fire mode that breaks pots and explosives but default only works on enemies

I think when you combine the downtime of charging and reloading, the uptime of beam is pretty harsh

The payoff just isn't good enough and that's why I'd want left click to have more rate of fire.

Honestly I'd like it more if the water jet was left click and the suck was right click and it was more like the jet got bonus damage from meter instead of being required

And the gun used traditional normal ammo with the standard 80 round mag and the suck was a freebie

And you could get meter from pots to prepare for the next room

Maybe have the killing blow give a larger portion of meter

So there is a balancing act

Lads I don't know if I'm losing my mind but I just can't seem to succeed in Spiritual Assault. I'll get a nice build going, I can feel the enemies scaling but also the power spikes I get from upgrading weapons, getting better scrolls and ascensions, things seem to be going well and then around 15 minutes in, I just fall off HARD. I'll run out of ammo trying to kill trash mobs and they don't drop more because they aren't dying!
Sometimes I'd have to use my primary twice on the same normal enemy, plus all my secondary skill uses and that MIGHT kill him

I've only ever had success with a chromatic mag and miasma Crown Prince, a spore build or a Feline + Buffer build. The last one still suffering from not being able to deal damage

I don't accept the whole "oh you gotta play one of like 2-3 metas or your damage can't scale high enough". Builds that are plenty strong in reincarnation just don't do shit in SA

You don't have the same spiritual blessing as you do in reincarnation. What was your build? (Character, weapon, spiritual assensions, tiles?)

I don't recall many details but the last run I did, I was playing the turtle. I took any ascensions that buffed the aspis and punch, I was using a wild hunt with nice inscriptions, like +50% lucky shot chance within 5m, +80% DMG for next 2 shots after reload. I don't think I was seeing yellow anymore, just purple and red. Didn't even scratch the enemies. I was using the tiles that increase weapon and skill DMG, one that gives a 15% chance of not taking damage, rerolling weapons for free, chance of enhanced scrolls, +3 weapon levels.
I got a good few movement scrolls, too, including Abnormal Speed which should have been helping my damage. I think I also got rational consumption (?) The one that boosts skill DMG as long as you don't buy too much from peddler

What spiritual ascensions did you take?

While it's not precisely "gotta play the meta" it's pretty close.

Unlike Reincarnation, not only do you not have spiritual blessings that are so strong they wipe all enemies off the planet, but in Spiritual Assault you don't have time to spend killing each room of enemies for 5 minutes with a sub-optimal build, as that just makes the next group of enemies take even longer.

Yeah I don't usually take it, just thought getting some nice exclusive or rare inscriptions on a weapon I liked easily would be better than waiting for one to drop

You can greatly reduce that rng with weapon scav jades and other jades for exclusives.

That spiritual blessing gives 5% lucky shot chance per stack of fist sensation

It wasn't an amazing build, but as I said if I don't run miasma cat, or abuse the chromatic reload, or go straight for spores, I can't do enough damage

I guess I just feel like I'm missing something? There's only so many optimal decisions you can make given the RNG, feels like it's really hard to keep your damage scaling at the same rate as the enemies.
I'd like to do another run, but I don's just want to exploit spores with a shotgun and injector again, which doesn't always keep up with damage reliably anyway.

Any other builds you guys have made good progress with?
