The fun part with that build is that my shots basically disable enemies and render them harmless, great for crowd control. But I find the reliance on elemental ascension a stopper - I need a backup strat for if I I finish Tomb and I realize that this build isn't happening...

I think one of the main reasons that people complain about multiplayer is the matchmaking, it can sometimes be difficult to find a group, especially considering a run for a group could be up to an hour if you’re having bad luck and taking forever.

If you don’t mind waitin a short bit or just goin #1064937664870101033 then you should be able to matchup with someone just fine, I personally usually go solo or with a friend but occasionally hop on multi and don’t have too much trouble as long as I don’t just choose one difficulty to matchmake in

My personal advice: find a friend or convince someone you’re buds with to try out the game with you, it’s a lot more fun figuring out things with someone and having a good laff while doing so. (Not to mention you can revive each other and discover fun builds quicker 😉

I suppose the main reason I say “easiest” is because he’s perhaps the character with the highest survivability without getting specific scrolls or ascensions.

Exclusive to SA, Birb's is higher.

His ability to recover Armor for every hit with such high number of enemies, and the several primary skill jades for resetting cooldown to do that faster, makes it so it's actually quite hard to die.

There's also the fact that Turtle's strengths in normal runs become his weakness in SA.

I suppose once again it just comes down to my opinion, I personally find it easier to survive using turtle without ascensions, if I have birb I usually run cleave which requires regen cleave

Turtle can move faster than Birb, has better protection from the front and has harder hitting, shorter range punches, plus his shields are good due to fewer enemies.

In normal runs, he's great for closing the distance on enemies while completely blocking attacks as you approach, and the shorter range means nothing due to your speed.

In SA however, your movement is constantly being hindered by enemies, weakening Fist Sensation and your punch damage. Enemies are constantly appearing behind you, weakening the Aspis's protection as it only does so from the front, the short punching range hits less enemies than leap and cleave's AoE bonuses, and if you're constantly getting backstabbed, shield recovery stalls more than manual armor recovery.

I get your point, in terms of speed he can take a hit especially if corrosion is applied, i usually run the “gain 10 stacks of fist sensation when using a punch so I don’t usually have an issue with that even while under corrosion or just flat out not moving

As for shield vs armor I wasn’t saying you can’t become Godlike in survivability with armor, I meant to say that in starting out in SA, until you get the regen cleave you have to rely on your leaps to restore armor which I find to be a bit more of a pain than turtle with two shields in starting. Once you get armor restoration it definitely outpaces shield by far

Yeah range of abilities definitely is inferior to birbs, and you can definitely hit a lot more, as for the aspis being directional it definitely doesn’t protect from the sides or back, but usually you’re looking toward the biggest threat or are moving around trying to keep an eye on whatever may appear. Usually if there is an area I don’t feel comfortable with I’ll run out of the group so that most all enemies are primarily in one direction then just perform a drive by.

Yeah the aspis is inferior in terms of what all it protects, I guess I’ve just had a lot more luck as it’s saved my hide numerous times when sharks have grabbed me or elite yakasha have bonked me, been nuked a few times as birb against certain high dmg enemies (skill issue I guess lol)

It's a fun weapon, but man it takes a village for it to be good past Act 1 in R8.

Think the most cracked run I had with it was dual wielding two, one Fire and one Decay, with Elemental Weave and Weapon Genius. Which obviously speaks more on abuse of OP things versus abuse of Bone Dragon as a good weapon.

Because if it’s 6-8 for a true then that’s a bit more doable than I thought, once again im just picturing the really obnoxious events that would pop up like decrease each shot dmg until you use a skill. How long would a boss take to kill with that one on? I’m just honestly curious, best way to figure it out though is just doing it lol.

Homing rocks haven't been nerfed. They were changed.

They don't all come at you at once anymore and pillars don't immediately break when struck, but they are more numerous and thanks to them not all coming at once, AoE to destroy them is less effective.

Qing Yan's armor recovery is, conveniently, AoE.

example; Tao's Fatal Bloom prioritizes delivering a lot of hits on target very quickly; Swords Out meanwhile prioritizes using a lot of ammo quickly to charge your stacks ASAP

Qian Sui finds a lot of extra damage from movement speed bonuses

generally speaking, it's more valuable to boost your strengths rather than shoring up your weaknesses - unless the options for damage boosts presented aren't particularly enthralling or it's a really good gap filler

like, if I'm playing shotgun Qing Yan (no Spiritual Link) and my options are Airbag, Unfettered Will, and Decay Driver, I'm taking Airbag any day of the week and it's not just because it's the highest rarity scroll of the bunch, but because it provides utility in restoring health while also synergizing with Berserk Soul for a healthy LS boost or that other one that halves damage taken

even though it's technically a "defensive" thing that shores up Qing's relative squishiness when his armor goes down

generally minor survival buffs aren't really worth your time in high R because generally you're still going to get deleted really quickly (though they help provide insurance for occasionally sloppy play)

That's not a bug, it's an option.

Just go to the settings menu, you'll find a toggle for visible teammate shots.

Meteors should generally be built to help recharge and empower fireball rather than focusing on their individual damage

From my experiences at least

I can generally have mine hitting upwards of 100,000 damage before I finish beating desert area on normal difficulty, and I can use it a couple of times in a row a lot of the time

honestly it felt like the attack landing speed from when it was being shown, scaled with how fast i was moving, but i know thats wrong

well, the many lunges is just hard to dodge. im fine with dying to that the second life,
but my first life i died to it's lunges activating nearly instantly, and the water balls going at incredible speed.

In that case what I said before doesn't change. The lunges and water balls are supposed to be super fast, you just avoid where they go by moving out of the red indicators beforehand.

You do.

Spamming doesn't work, because the longer he's frozen for, the shorter the freeze is.

And repeatedly casting Energy Orb with no sense of timing will likely result in them breaking free during the casting animation in the last few seconds.

I hold the left trigger to aim and when I try to fire with the right trigger, it just disables the zoom

They're not. I can use every other weapon normally. L2 is tied to "secondary" actions on guns, like the circle thingy that lightning weapon does to boost damage or the shield that absorbs a bunch of hits before retaliating. R2 fires for every weapon, it is an issue pertaining to scoping only

It is not a sniping only error, it's mishandling two buttons being pressed simultaneously

After a bit of research, it looks like the scroll and link have different advantages. Because the scroll caps damage to a lower amount, you can tank more big hits before you die. But, because the scroll doubles the damage you take, it makes small hits much more dangerous. On the other hand, the link’s higher damage cap means you’re less tanky against big hits, but in exchange, it doesn’t affect small hits

Yes the gemini has to be the same. It'll turn purple when it's active, so you can tell at a glance

If you're looking for maximum critx, the more or less ideal combo is a golden bow as your main weapon and a Strike Wing with a +critx inscription as your gemini weapon

But there are several other snipers with very respectable critx multipliers that will work nearly as well, if you prefer the way other snipers feel

Semi-random. They will always appear in certain vaults or with certain events you can guarantee (Elite Gathering challenge events with Royal Guard/Mysterious Jokul active) however those vaults, the elites picked for Elite Gatherings and other events are randomized.

So if you've got a fire weapon and you increase fire damage, my understanding is that that weapon will do more damage

It's significantly harder than multiplayer when on later difficulties, simply because you have 1 revive while multiplayer has theoretically infinite, but all difficulties are very possible on solo.
