when you see the Wind God about to flap its wings, strafe/dash left or right(You'll know it's about to do this since it stares directly at you). If you see it spiral up in to the air, it is about to dive. Avoid by dashing, and be aware that it will release several wind blades after its dive. Your best bet is to avoid this is to keep moving left or right after you have avoided the dive. Avoid the sand tornadoes by crashing them in to the sand pits. Look at the radar to know where the sand pits are. When Wind God gets Invincible, kite it in to a sand pit to remove its Invincibility, you may have to do it more than once.

What you do is get both a high rof weapon and a shotgun with the spores gemini (Argus > Wild Hunt > Hell) and upgrade the shotgun. You won't be using it, spores damage is mainly based off of base dmg and projectiles. You just need a high rof weapon to trigger spores quickly.

Beating nightmare is a matter of practice and learning. Probably 90% of what I learned about the game came after beating nightmare and all of it would have helped.
Unlock any talents you don't have, especially talents in the survival tree. Getting more unlocks of scrolls and guns can help too.
And just practice, you'll be able to dodge better, anticipate enemy spawns, etc. Keep trying and you'll beat it.
You can beat nightmare with any hero, but Dog and Bird are probably harder and Li and Turtle are probably easier.

All of them. Focus less on who is good and more on who is fun to you. Full stop. Ignore tier lists/people bitching about characters. Everyone can win Nightmare consistently.
How do I survive nightmare?
A better question. Here are some tips to not only promote growth as you play but narrow concepts down so they're easier to learn:
1] Pick one or two characters to focus on
Getting used to one or two kits cuts down on information overload and allows you to focus on the guns, scrolls, enemies, etc. Getting to know a character's ascensions more will help you begin to see synergies between what a character can do and what scrolls/weapons offer to help that niche out.
2] Prioritize things that help you stay alive at first
Seriously consider Occult Scrolls that boost your defenses like Overwhelming Shield, Spirit Feline, Paranormality, Flowing Wind, Flesh and Bones (if playing
), Silver/Gold Medal, Flowing Wind, etc.
Specific hero ascensions (from Goblets) can help, too, such as Voltaic Aegis
, Sword Guard
, Advanced Shield
, Hex smoke
Movement speed is also great both defensively and offensively. Things like the Occult Scrolls Abnormal Speed and Strategic Advantage or Ascensions like Iron Scud
and Wave Rider
can greatly help you move around/dodge things.
Remember, all of the above help mitigate mistakes. You will make lots of mistakes at first.
3] Genuinely try. Try lots of things out. Don't blame RNG.
Use each run as an opportunity to pick up stuff and see how things function in your build. Learn by doing, and stay positive. If you die, think about why that might've happened and adapt for next time.
I'll type this one out separately because some people refuse to do it. But I stand by it:
4] Play Solo
Solo forces to player to deeply consider their actions without the cushion of revive chaining. You will become a better multiplayer player if you play some solo runs.
And lastly:
5] Learn the different damage types
Some builds are elemental, some are skill based. Gemini-ing a fire weapon with a decay offhand typically gives it a HUGE damage increase due to the combustion fusion effect. Picking up Skill damage scrolls helps things like Leap and Swords Out do more damage--even explosive weapons benefit from (most) Skill damage increases.
This is a lot to read but I figured I'd actually type out a nice reply. Hope it helps you/others ๐

It was mainly spores with a big helping of Energy Draining which adds a lot of Weapon Damage, ROF and MS.
I did also have Elemental Nova from bizarre dream so I had constant Corrosion and Lightning novas for easy triple elemental as well.
Throw in a lot of defensive layers and I phased the Bear in less than 2 seconds.

Only reason why Monke is there is because he has nothing that greatly benefits shields exclusively, except half of 1 talent, and an ascension gets better when you can't break shields.

If you're not in Reincarnation yet Dog struggles to keep up in damage versus someone like Li who has bonkers numbers in her kit.
He can still output insane damage--just takes more building. His last talent tree skill is a good damage boost. Look into that if you plan on playing him more.

all i did was copy paste my save file from my gamepass gunfire reborn to my steam gunfire reborn, then when i launched it on steam it kept my progress but patched it to the updated version, not sure if it works to use a savefile from the current version and have it be reverted to an older version of the game

Nightmare is harder than reincarnation because of the spiritual blessings you get that are quite powerful. If you're struggling with nightmare you should try r1 and see if you have the same difficulty. Also you can look at the wiki for builds, or the speedrun site for builds as well and those also help alot.

It's still 8, but they've added modifiers available to all levels that could perhaps alter how it feels.
That said, 1 modifier is a straight buff to the player [Spiritual Links], another is mostly a positive and is often argued to make the run easier [Mysterious Jokul], and the last one is a difficulty increaser [Lone Wolf] that scales the run to act like it's 2-4 players worth of enemies even though you're playing solo. So I guess you could consider Lone Wolf a sort of Reincarnation 9. Or Reincarnation 10 with Mysterious Jokul. But that's debatable.

I'd say Lone Wolf is a bigger decrease to difficulty than Mysterious Jokul.
Most of the problems in your run happen at the start where you suck due to no build.
Lone Wolf fixes this problem.
Mysterious Jokul on the other hand... you get free peddler refreshes and guaranteed loot from elite gatherings, but all elites become a pain in the ass... with the right enhancements.

Steam/Mobile: Dog (Atomic Bomb), Tiger (Thunder & Glory), Bunny (Spore Gemini), maybe Turtle (Tsunami Punch) or Fox (Spiritual Flame in general).
Gamepass: Dog (Atomic Bomb) or Turtle (Striking Punch in general).
That being said, if by "carry" you mean "make sure people don't die" then Cat (Smoke Grenade) is the choice.

Uh... he doesn't? Blinding Sphere makes it so his Energy Orb can hit enemies hiding behind cover.
Therefore it's not a mistranslation of Armor.
In Shrieker's case it's especially obvious that it refers to solid objects, because you can clearly see a small explosion when hitting an enemy, and a large explosion when hitting a wall.

Li, like Qian Sui, are both OP in the main game but are actually weaker in SA.
In Li's case, sure she can annihilate entire lines of enemies with Spiritual Flame, but it also takes time to charge.
Other heroes can also annihilate big groups, but without waiting.
Li's overwhelming damage doesn't mean much here if the enemy can die from 1 shot, regardless of hero.
Oh and there's also the fact that she can't use pretty much any spiritual jade to do with primary skills, because they're all about cooldowns.

If i think about Tao.. Her Swords are strong, but they don't kill groups of enemies. Maybe they kill 1.. but then i think it would be better to use a Blossom build? I don't know. Maybe Tao isn't this good in SA and i should try another character? Lei Lou?

Unless you can get sword spam.
The useful ascensions for blossom in SA is basically all of them except glowing bloom and blade of bloom.

If you're using Dual Fang and maybe Fire Dragon, yeah it's a bug.
Otherwise you might've picked Be Right Back, which instantly resets Swords Out's cooldown if you kill an enemy with a sword.

Whatโs the deal with elemental conversions with spiritual link? Do some elements automatically take preference over others? Had a fire conversion scalpel ele share with a lightning weapon and I picked up lightning enthusiast and sure enough it swapped to lightning, to mitigate this I just dropped the scrolls and picked them up with the last being flame shard to activate fire scalpel again and couldnโt get it to change to fire, lightning would always be chosen, so I had to give the scrolls away
Is there a different way of forcing the element you want or no

Conversions have a priority. No way around it besides dropping scrolls of the higher priority to disable it.

me and anglegoo were in a run and we defeated the stage 3 boss for the first time but it only gave us a portal to home to secure our essence, i crashed be4 we went thru it but is that normal? cause we werent able to progress and it confused me
like there is stages past that so why werent we able to go through

First victory at act 3 only lets you go back to the inn.
All other victories afterwards will let you go to act 4 if you want.
The game crashing in multiplayer is a Gamepass-exclusive issue.

It's a decent shotgun, but dangerous to use it at its full potential.
Unlike melee weapons, it does not stagger enemies to delay their attacks.

Problem is with melee bonuses for ranged weapons is you need to have a reason to use one or the other.
Wheel Saw you use the weapon skill when you see an opportunity or can take the risk. You're also fairly close ranged already so you're not moving very far out of position, if at all.
Something like a rifle however would have a significantly longer effective range to it. This would reduce the potential of a melee attack as you're less likely to be a hero who can safely get close, and you'd have to move a further distance to attempt it.

Pole Monarch only uses 1 attack at a time, and is only 1 target, and is a massive target that you should always keep an eye on, and he has no other help.
Literally the complete opposite of spammy.
The only time this changes is if you activate Mysterious Jokul and have friends with you, where you get up to... 3 targets, 2 of which aren't actually your objective to defeat.
