I imagine a scenario similar to Roy Mustang’s situation during FMAs final arc where he lost his eyesight. The blind swordsman (who I still need to name btw) losing his echolocation/sixth sense to tell what’s around him(?) in the middle of a battle or whatever and Bachiko, like Riza, has to shadow him and direct his attacks via verbal communication. It could also be the same with him losing his sword and it being pitch black so he has to direct Bachiko on where to shoot. Though it would be funnier if he picked her up and pointed her in the direction of an enemy like he’s firing a gun.
Blind sword dude: “Hello! You must be Iruma! I’ve heard so much about you!”
Iruma, whispering to Bachiko: “Master, who is that? I’ve never seen him before.”
Bachiko: “H-He’s just a friend, I brought him here to help you and your class train.”

Also, idk if yall read Kagurabachi but the character Seiichi Samura is kinda the vibe in channeling here. Like he’s able to use a form of echolocation to find enemies and Bachiko learns how to work in complete silence to that Xerra doesn’t cut her similar Samura’s allies in KB. Once they learn to fight with one another well enough, Bachiko learns just to listen to Xerra’s callouts and deal with any silent-ish threat that Xerra can’t see
