Does anyone else have similar issues with battery drain when using Vtube Studio?

This is with battery saving mode on and the screen brightness set to the minimum and streaming mode on while plugged in to mains power and using WiFi to stream to pc.

84% total battery health and the drain seemed to be worse after updating to 16.6.1 but that could be just a coincidence.

You mention it is plugged into mains power, what kinda of charging brick are you using?

Just some huawei one with a third party cable also to clarify it used to hold the charge with the same setup this is only a very recent issue.

I know apple is restrictive on allowed thrid party chargers and cables.

But if it used to hold the charge prior...

the face it was fine before it was lead me to believe it was the recent update but I just put that off to coincidence.

That is a possbility, I remember some third party cables i used to use stopped working after an iOS update.

There were some issues in the past were it drained faster but I was still able to stream for 6+ hours just fine now making 4 is a real struggle

Could also be a heat issue?
Of the top of my head, I don't remember how apple handles overheating alongside fast charging.

hmm maybe, I don't think it ever felt hot at the end of a stream but I could test that again and a new cable, I believe IOS 17 is out on Monday unless I'm mistaken, hopefully one of these solutions will work.

I appreciate all the fast help by the way!

Overheating stops the charging yeah and there's no charging marks in your diagram

Woweee... Is that all attributed to VTube Studio? One thing that comes to mind is temperature, is your iPhone running hot while you use it for tracking (iOS Stopes charging if the phone runes too hot and your graph doesn't have any charging marks below the bars)?

If you updated to 16.6.1 only very recently your phone might also still be running background indexing and other tasks that usually take a day or two and drain extra battery

That's good to know since I don't use an iphone outside of using this one for vtube studio so I had no idea about the charging marks. I'll give it some time post update then test to see how much it heats up at worse I may have to point a fan or something at it.

It should be fine if you have streamer mode enabled and ideally using the USB connection to your PC instead of WiFi. I used to be able to stream 4-6 hours using WiFi + having my 12mini plugged into a wall charger (vNyan doesn't do direct USB connection) but it also managed to get the phone to go to overheat breaks once or twice until I got a proper mount.

Worth checking if it actually charges if you plug it into the PC though - sometimes it's the cable preventing it, sometimes even the USB port on the PC side

Just as a FYI, if you are streaming, please use the original Apple charger, if you plug your phone into the PC to use on USB, it needs to be plugged into a port that can do 18w charging otherwise it will just drain while operating. If you have a USB hub, it needs to be able to send 18w to all USB-A ports.
