Iphone X overheating when vts is in use

Any phone heats with tracking, newer ones will heat less but it is what it is
Most you can do is to turn on Streaming Mode in VTS on your phone and maybe consider getting a phone cooler if it's too much and you use it to stream for too long

since it auto puts its self in streaming mode but ill try getting a cooler

Anyone with this issue regarding a brand new iPhone 14? I just bought a new one today, thinking it would fix it (I had an iPhone 13 mini) but it's still the same. I'm trying everything - even sent diagnostic program to apple, to see if there was any issue related to their newest update or if there was an issue on my phone. But it still won't work. It overheats and then the model lags.

Are you using Streaming Mode

i will check, i usueally had that on, can it jump off?

Nop

it's still getting warm, even with that on, battery saving mode and screen lights turned down

#

I will try and see if I sit with it on for a while again

#

is it meant to be this hot? :(

An iPhone 14 shouldn't heat up using Streaming mode

Streaming Mode does get activated?

#

how can it be the same issue with two different phones - one from 2021(?) and one from now

muted copper
#

Maybe something from your setup heats it up?

My iPhone 12 Pro has the same issue it gets insanely hot but doesn’t “overheat” to where it shuts down or lags. I’ve got all the things on like streamer mode and dimming the screen I’ve tried everything still gets hot, I’m very concerned about my phone tho as it’s my personal one and looking at getting a cooler. I do use usb to my computer to connect it as I use a Ethernet cable I just don’t know what else to do 😵‍💫

I'm going to assume you guys all have your iPhone connected to a charger while streaming, if so you want to make sure the charger has enough power to allow the phone to run from it exclusively. Otherwise you end up with a constant battery drain-while-trying-to-charge cycle that will absolutely get even an iPhone 14 to heat up; add in streaming via WiFi and your iPhone will definitely get hot. Not a CPU HELP hot but a simple charging + wifi hardware at full steam hot.

I had the same with my 12mini and switching to USB connection to my PC (and also having the PC charge the phone at the same time) helped a lot. You won't get a "cool" phone but at least it stopped it from going into overheat break.

I will also chime in that the passive cooling is also dependant in the room temperature, my iPhone X overheats in summer but can handle itself during winter.
