Hello! I am currently in the works from switching from a Logitech C920 to a Elgato Facecam Pro. No specific reason just wanted to try it. While doing so I noticed no matter what resolution I set the Elgato Facecam Pro on Vtubestudio I cannot achieve anything past 40FPS.

There are 3 options to choose from with the Elgato Facecam Pro

3840 X 2160
1920 X 1080
1280 X 720

The only thing is the 1280 X 720 doesn't work at all and freezes the program till it crashes.

The 3840 X2160 offers the FPS at 60 only. After selecting that your only option is the MJPEG color format.

Once that is all set up and the camera is turned on the webcam is stuck at a 12/14 FPS average. While the program confidence is 96-100% it still is stuck at a very low FPS.

For the 1920 X 1080 option all the same FPS and color format options stay the same.

At this point when turning on the webcam you are stuck between 30/40FPS average with the same 95-100% Confidence.

The cog for the webcam does not allow you to shut off low light filtering and it isn't even selected/check marked in the box.

Going into the elgato webcam program you can shut off some of these settings but nothing changes in VTS itself.

This is my first support thread so I apologize not being able to provide you with image/video proof to help this be explained.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for reading!

@zinc laurel I have the normal FaceCam, never had a problem with it so far.

Definitely don't use 3840 X 2160

If 1920 X 1080 works at 30/40 FPS, that sounds about right depending on your CPU.

#

There is unfortunately one step that has to happen on the CPU (color-space conversion), even with the NVIDIA tracker. And for a large webcam image, that can be slow.

#

But VTS interpolates webcam tracking data to the app FPS (so 60 or whatever you set), so the difference between 30 and 60 camera FPS should be almost impossible to notice.

Oh yeah I forgot to post my computer specs. Mine is fairly good.

VTS restricts the webcam trackers to use one CPU core.

#

So that is probably the limiting factor.

So its a cpu issue?

Unless you have any visible lag, I wouldn't worry about it.
