#Changing expression without losing blinking?

I've been messing with expressions in VTube studio, but I've noticed something with regards to changing the eyes for an expression. Changing the amount that the eyes are open locks the expression into being unable to blink; and further causes times when I physically blink myself to make my model's eyes suddenly look off in a random direction for a moment.

Is there a setting I am missing that I can use within vtube studio to toggle on a half-lidded eye expression (such as smug face) without losing the ability to blink, or do I need to commission my rigger to make that change?

That is what expressions do. They set the value of a parameter and lock them there.

If you want something like that you would need to talk to your rigger so you can make a toggle as the only other option would be to go into parameter settings for the model in VTS and change the eye open values. This can only be done manually so it would not be good to do mid-stream.
