@jaunty cave he shouldn't have had his first title, if he complains about reliability in 2008 Massa retired from the lead in Hungary, I think from the podium in Singapore and didn't finish the first 2 races of the season. Hamilton in 2008 crashed into Alonso in Bahrain and into Kimi (both title rivals btw) in Canada, and again in France I think? And Massa lost by 1 point.

Hey @ Sancla, that’s a great question - always fun to debate who is currently the best driver! I don’t know if you can simply say it’s Hamilton when it obvious the Silver Arrows have had the best car in the turbo-hybrid era (i.e. since 2014). When Red Bull had the best car from 2010 through 2013 Vettel was considered by most to be the best driver on the track. So I look at which driver is consistently getting the most of their car and out-drives their competition. In looking at 2019 through to today, I think Verstappen has the edge because in 2019 even though he had arguably the fifth fastest car, he finished 3rd overall and repressed 66.7% of his team’s constructor points.

I refuse to believe I should be getting out qualified by 2020 teams with my 2019 team. The cars this year even with nearly max gear don’t seem like they will reach the stats of a close to max geared car from 2019 and the drivers stats are worse than last years drivers unless they have maxed Ham or Verstappen which I doubt anyone has done yet. Interesting that you think Sainz will be a good addition to Ferrari. I personally cannot see him challenging Leclerc and that is the old Ferrari way with Schumacher and Barrichelo. That would be sad if his going to be used as Leclercs defense and not attack for P1. Sorry for not answering, but I think that Ferrari has a secure future with Leclerc, but as you said, Sainz might not be the most optimal option for Ferrari at the moment. But I think that it’s a great option before brining in a younger, better and more relative driver. Especially now that there’s a generation change on its way. So in a few years time, I think that Ferrari might be ahead of other teams like Red bull, Mercedes and the “new” Aston Martin team of it does well on track

Yeah! I’m really looking for tears to the new regulations of 2022, because the cars will be more close to each other in case of performance. That in itself will maybe affect the drivers relations with their team, so that more long term contacts will be put into the sport. That may create more loyal drivers, such as Pérez at Raving point, who has stayed there for years. Mainly because of the sponsors, but I think that he sees the team as a part of himself as well. However the new regulations may create a negative side to the sport. It may instead “create” more drivers like Alonso at McLaren in 2018, that could ruin the team itself from inside out. I’m not saying that Alonso did that, but you probably know what I mean. Idk if you’re even able to read this, but yeah

The Brits trump up their sportman and I get it, it's pride, but Norris, Russell and Albon are exciting too. Leclerc has shown that he can defend against Hamilton in last years calendar. Hamilton will never say that the Mercedes is in a different league in terms of power and grip. Yet Bottas openly says Mercedes has the fastest car on the grid. Going to your point about ham being a black driver, in my view, he is a mix race driver that identifies black, in relation to what he has done for young black driver showing potential, thats not his responsibility, he is assigned a job and that is to drive first and foremost.
