When you are nearby, it doesn't allow you to remove the cable and a message appears: "This item cannot be removed here." When you move a little further away, that's when you can remove the cable, and as you approach to connect it back, everything works fine. The bug occurs when you're close to the dome; it prevents you from removing the cable and nothing happens. The bug is captured in a video.
