#Java learner struggling with internships and project building

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2nd-year AI/CS engineering student (moving to 3rd year soon). I've learned Core Java and I'm currently learning Spring Boot.

I'm feeling stuck in two areas and would really appreciate guidance from seniors:

  1. I'm struggling to find Java internships — most openings I see are MERN or Python. Is Java backend still a good path for students, and where should I be searching?

  2. After following YouTube tutorials, I struggle when building projects on my own. I often don't know how to start planning or structure the code. How did you overcome this stage?

Any advice, roadmap suggestions, or personal experiences would really help.

Thanks!
