U have to register certain modules to make it work ever since jiksaw released
There r instructions on how to do it but u have to set it up manually for each project seperately
...
Honestly it's easier to just use maven or gradle so they do it for u
(I prefer maven)
JavaFV moved from Oracle to gluon, so ur probably looking at the wrong instructions for modern javafx and modern java... Search for gluon javafx install instructions
They have a wonderful page with instructions for every setup
IntelliJ + maven for example and a code snippet to test with
(the manual intelliJ instructions will explain what modules to register and where and how to do it)
Make a new project with the instructions get it working and then fiddle with it in mooc
