thanks; I've never used a generic programming language before nor java's generics;
Just ran into this in someone else's code.

I guess I should give another attempt at diving into generics, although I'm not sure this will be any more successful than my last attempt

Thanks; I think this will probably be a challenge for another day though since I have next to no free time right now.

Just knowing it involves generics though is enough for me to classify this as a problem for later
