You know what that means:

"full potential" games already had came out in it's lifecycle. You'd be hard pressed to get more impressive than the visuals of these titles. The 3do system has 2 big things going for it: it's "simple" on a programmers end and it's not jaguar...
The 3do was easier to get more out of than the jaguar. But the 3do's worst aspect in that regard is that wasn't powerful enough to allow rapid evolving of 3d gaming, in comparison to something like PS1. For PS1 companies like psygnosis and crystal dynamics released wipeout and tomb raider at a varying 25-30 fps and said "what else can we get out of this", and proceeded to make the next entries even more involved and demanding. With 3do it was obvious pretty involving optimizations were required with the first entry, which makes a second entry less appealing to any studio that wants to push boundaries.

The only thing I'd say that didn't hit the "full potential" mark would be 2D games. Gex really should have ran a steady 30fps at least. Same for samurai showdown.

I think the popularity of the SNES eclipsed the popularity of the decent arcade and Megadrive port. People hear the name 'Pitfighter' and think of the awful unfinished SNES version. This is how history will mostly remember this game. Not that it was my any means a masterpiece, but it's still an undeserved fate.

you can probably get over the vr sickness if you're determined enough, i've seen people do it

i never had really heavy effects but the small ones i did have went away in a few weeks

you have to start slow with games with no camera movement at all, then go to games with only single axis fixed movement like autoscrolling shooters/beatsaber, then you can try full 3d movement under your own control. never try and power through any sickness always stop right away, make sure and keep cool like point a fan at you while you play and just keep building up your tolerance slowly

When first tried Saturn, quite a few games worked, but some RAM modules performed better than others.

I remember SotN would boot 1 out of a 100 for me.

Until one day, it just started working.

My favourite core to test from the start was the N64 core, those Black mario kart squares were epic. The look on my wife's face when she walked in on my excited face at playing with blocks of black mass 😂

There is definitely an argument for it being the best. I don't know if it differs from the fm towns original in any ways. I don't think anything has ever eclipsed the sparkling sounds of the cps1 board, but that's just my own particular taste or nostalgia kicking in.
