It's a solid way to play Uno. Though I remember the AI being kind of brutal as I lost games repeatedly. Maybe I just got unlucky? I don't know.

By chance are you on CIFS/network? If you're too fast, the network service doesn't start fast enough and you'll see an empty directory.

It takes a good 40 seconds or so for network to start for me on a cold boot.

The pre-alpha cores usually implement timings for CRT last. It's working for me over RGB to CRT but the finicky nature of a core at this stage of development means that doesn't say much.

Do you know what speed your RAM tests at? If you've answered it up above, I apologize.

There is no stable or official. Just builds from code pushes.

Generally someone here builds them and drops them, though there is an autobuilder that recently kicked off. The latest from Unstable-Nightlies has been working great for me.

Mine used to play Sega Rally and Daytona just fine, now it does exactly what JimJam's is doing.
No way I am gonna buy a newer version SDRAM chip, if that is what the issue is.
Something has changed in the Core which has buggered it up

Yeah, it is all looking towards something changing in the Core recently, which makes it more sensitive to the ram.
Not gonna bother buying a new ram stick, just for the saturn core, everything else works fine.

If you even buy a new sdram version 2.9/3.0 it doesn't mean at all that something will change. I have a 2.9 sdram that runs on 142 and has the same symptoms as the 2.4 , one 2.9 out of my three runs better for Saturn.

That's why I no longer cared , that something works and something does not. I'm not going to buy 20 rams and choose which one works best now to test alpha core Saturn.

I checked my ram speeds against a 2.4 and a 2.9 module. I sometimes get games to run on. 2.4 with a slightly slower timing than 2.9. It’s so organic. Which for me is very interesting and I kind of love it

Nobody is quite sure, but it definitely seems to have improved things for a lot of folks. I can now get Burning Rangers to run on single ram, in example (that's an actual single ram MiSTer build. My dual ram won't launch it even with the new single ram RBF). A lot of things that didn't boot for me are working now (still over CIFS), but as far as we can tell there were no check ins.
