Combos are fun to play and harder to make it work. They also create an incentive for collecting cards. In comparison to decks like Game Dev, Sharks, Nebulae and Shake up the system, which basically require you to play cards in no specific order, getting combos requires careful planning. Yet the buffs provided are often not enough to make the effort of having the combo worthwhile.
Some ideas to create an incentive:
- each league has a specific “killer” buff for combos
- the buff is enough to turn a round around
Other ideas
- each combo gets its specific super power
- super powers activate only in certain circumstances like, “when playing against sharks” or “if you lost first round”, etc…
- some combos disable others, if cards are related in some way
