Combos are fun to play and harder to make it work. They also create an incentive for collecting cards. In comparison to decks like Game Dev, Sharks, Nebulae and Shake up the system, which basically require you to play cards in no specific order, getting combos requires careful planning. Yet the buffs provided are often not enough to make the effort of having the combo worthwhile.

Some ideas to create an incentive:

  • each league has a specific “killer” buff for combos
  • the buff is enough to turn a round around

Other ideas

  • each combo gets its specific super power
  • super powers activate only in certain circumstances like, “when playing against sharks” or “if you lost first round”, etc…
  • some combos disable others, if cards are related in some way

Let’s get Jekyll and Hyde, Kong and the monsterverse, Zepellin and others to make a difference!

i don't think that they should be broken, but combos do need an improvement. especially 3 card combos, which are much harder to pull off than things such as eyjafjallajokull, but offer a much smaller buff. 3 card combos should change the tide of battle for sure, and 2 card combos should just be stronger than they currently are

Yes, this is a great idea. As the power-creep has steadily taken hold combos have largely become irrelevant. I wonder if something as simple as making all combo buffs permanent would open up a tonne of viable decks?

Permanent buffs are a great idea. It’s like playing with Vanta Black and a full colors deck.

One card wins the round and you have to think about when to best play it
