It’s the semifinals of the 2004 Evolution Championship, for Capcom’s game Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. In the last game, Japanese Ken player Daigo Umehara is down to one pixel of health against famed American Chun-Li, Justin Wong.

Looking to chip Daigo out, over a crowd cheering “Let’s go, Justin!”, he unleashes his 17-hit super move. Extraordinarily, in a feat of speed akin to that of the Flash himself, Daigo’s Ken parries all 17 hits, and responds with a combo that wins him the set.

To this day, both players look back on this moment, entitled “Evo Moment 37 with nostalgia, and mild PTSD on Justin’s end. This moment is so famous, it got the attention of Capcom themselves, who put the feat as a trial when they released the HD remake of Third Strike. This moment is considered one of the most iconic moments in the history of the fighting game community.

Apollo is an African Grey parrot owned by Florida couple Dalton and Victoria Mason, and the current world record holder of the most words recited by a parrot in under 3 minutes.

Alongside his two caique friends, Soleil and Ophelia, Dalton and Victoria give Apollo a preschool level education, taken from the teachings of the caretaker of Alex the African Grey, and former holder of Apollo’s record, Dr Irene Pepperberg.

Some things Apollo knows are the following:
Basic numbers, the composition of objects like rock, metal, and paper, plants, bugs, fire, and even Wario, as well as several phrases, which he says in Victoria’s voice.

On YouTube, under the channel name “Apollo and Frens”, 1 million people and counting tune in regularly to see Apollo’s antics and genius at work, all to earn a tasty pistachio, or “pistach” as a reward.
