Super glue isn’t better than mons, it used to be worse and now with the new buff it’s equal to it. Mons is 0 base power but 120 effect power (40 power on the 3 cards you play). Super glue is 30 base power plus 90 effect power for the same total of 120. I don’t think it’s a problem that the later level up rewards are on par with a limited legendary.

I’d still prefer mons because it’s space, but raw stats, glue is objectively better

Fair point, I didn’t consider energy. Even though it’s just 1 energy sometimes that one energy is enough to make you not be able to play a card.
Still though I don’t think that level up rewards need to be super strong, even if they take a while to get. I just see them as a nice little bonus reward you get for playing the game. To me they just need to be unique. That’s of course my opinion and you are more than welcome to disagree.
