Hello! Everyone knows that programming is a job what can't be really automated and for humans this will be certain for at least some time. But, lets fantasise, what do You think how will future programmers program in 60 years from now? Will this be something like a WordPress or Unity Visual Scripting where you can drag and drop elements/ connect them to create software? Or will they be just using improved frameworks with AI copilot? Or something even cooler? crowpog

Assuming we don't develop an AGI, most likely we'll be coding using human languages that rely on AI to fill in any details. I imagine that anything that needs to be very specific will look much more like a spec document so that the AI will have to fill in less details.

#

More or less we'll be moving up a layer, whereas now we have management that tells coders what to code, we'll have humans telling Ai what to code.

#

I'm not yet convinced that the forward leaps we're seeing with AI right now will continue happening for the next 60 years. It's very possible we'll hit some sort of wall that causes us to settle into a more gradual progress.

It's definitely fun

From a productivity standpoint though it makes more sense to not have humans writing code directly
