Please see video, I own the new winter fishing Items, I bought them from the Cat NPC, but they aren't available to choose from the selection of my lines/reels? Am I missing something or is this a bug?
I just spent a lot of money to buy these items 
Is this Rod not suitable for Ice Fishing?

Hey @kind flicker, sorry for the confusion.
The ice hole can only be used for fishing with the ice fishing rods, First Snow and Deep Winter.
And the Deep Winter Reel and Ice Braided I Line are only compatible with the heavy ice fishing rod Deep Winter, so they cannot be equipped on the lure rod Frost.
