@jaunty perch yes the confirmation signals will tend to work better in trending markets, while the contrarian ones are more effective in ranging markets, even tho we designed them such that they are not as affected by trending markets than other indicators specialized in reversal detection.

@jaunty perch you have to set your risk reward based on your aversion to risk and your initial capital, so there isn't a fixed number for that, a rule of thumb is to not risk more than 2% of your capital on a trade, some recommends a RR of 1:2, targeting profits and limiting risks, others likes to give some risk margin with a RR of 2:1, I wouldn't advise that kind of RR.

@jaunty perch note that the LuxAlgo indicators are not intended to be part of a "mechanical" system, backtesting them is not what you are looking for. You want to use them in confluence with other information, a mechanical interpretation of the indicator won't make you trade better nor more comfortably.

A signal is confirmed only once the candle is closed. Meaning a signal could appear on your chart but is not confirmed until that candle is closed and the next candle has started.

Our automated Discord bots will never notify you on any signal until the candle has closed and confirmed it. If you're adding alerts for Lux signals in TradingView - make sure to select "Once per bar close".

Just signed up... all looking great, but I can’t seem to get the Contrarian signal to work. I’ve found an area where price was ranging, but I get no signals in this mode. I’ve tried playing with the sensitivity setting, from top to bottom, but I still can’t get any signals to show.

I have some Lux Dashboard questions.

The confirmation: and contrarian: labels in Line 1 -- are those indicating the Confirmation signal status in a TRENDING market and the Contrarian signal status in a RANGING market? What I am wondering is, is line 1 always telling you the signal status of either side?

I have Lux Algo configured to 1 hr on the Timeframe in settings input. When I have the TV resolution to 5 minutes the candle colors do not match the candle colors when i change the TV resolution to 1 hr. Shouldnt they both match? I get signals in the 1 hr time frame on the 5 min resolution but its not there in the 1 hour resolution in TV. Have attached an image of both. Am I missing something? Thanks!

@spiral wyvern you are using the "Any signal" alert condition, and as such will be also notified for contrarian signals, but you are using confirmation signals on your chart, the alert you received was due to a contrarian signal and has such it is normal you didn't see it.

Hi I am new to Lux Algo and Discord. I am trying to use Bot Scanners, but they just show few signals a day... Today I didn't get any Stocks signals yet... Is this how it works? Also when I am getting a signal it has about 15 minutes lag... In many cases they are useless being late... is there any option to get more signals and immediately, without any delay? Also I can't find any option to show e.g.: #695668653869236433, #695668580301144064, #695732700991979601 in the main Discord widow next to each other in separate columns? (as it is shown at Lux Algo website) I will appreciate if some of you could help me with taking off with Discord and Lux Algo 🙂

@jaunty perch the alerts are set to higher tf, which is why you might not receive as much alerts as you would setting them on a 15tf

@white grove 5min is fairly low, I always use 15min, you should set the setting such that you catch significant movements without being too affected by frictional costs

@surreal sapphire those are the tickers on TradingView. So simply typing those in will find them.

Take ES for example. Type ES into the search and TradingView will let you decide which contract you actually wanna see

Your broker may want it typed different. So for E*TRADE I have to put /ES for find it. But TV does not want the “/“

@brazen lantern They’re different timeframes. You answered your own question. Keep in mind it takes 5 1min candles to make a 5min candle so you’re essentially looking at 5x more data on the 5m than the 1m. With that said 1m is the data to the 5m so you’d get your trend from the 5m and use your 1m for entry

Hi, there is alot of singnals to buy in 5 min candle, and in 15 min candles its says sell, how can i do the right thing, it's confusing

Yes that's because that's how different timeframes work

Friends - why don't you make them part of the Lux so we dont need add them separately and avoid TV upgrades?

other indicators I have are all being used. I cant remove. Hope you understand my point, you can leave it in LUX as optional. isnt it?
