Another thing you can do is close ur eyes then zoom back super far in TV and practice analysis

They can be used without, they just represent indecision in the market. Using them adds a little more caution

So if you have grey candles on it can help prevent as many fake outs

The trade off is that you most likely get a later entry

But grey candles will always use the band, even if the band is disabled they are colored grey if they would fall within that range

If you want to use lower timeframes you'd want a higher value

But we don't really recommend

The algorithm uses past data from X candles. The higher the time frame the more data the algorithm has to work with the more educated its signals are and hence tend to be more reliable. Lower time frames will use the same amount of candles but due to it being a lower time frame it has less data to work with. For example: if the algorithm uses 10 candles of data, on the 15m chart that's 150m of data. However on the daily chart that's 10 days of data to generate a signal on.

Using the algo has increased my success rate but I never seem to be able to reach my TP most of the time. I tend to enter a trade in the middle of a strong signal and then the price starts to retrace, sometimes turning purple or triggering a sell/buy signal.

In this scenario, should I hold the trade until it hits tp? This would involve holding the trade overnight which I'm not comfortable with.

@strange garnet here is good example on one of the trades i took, I saw this strong support level was tested 2 times and its respected level of support. I was then waiting for price to retest this support and expected to bounce from it again. So my TP was previous resistance and my stoploss under this wicks of this strong support level. Also lux called out strong buy so another confirmation to enter the trade.

If you see a “Sell” in Discord and a “Strong Sell” on TradingView, it could likely be due to using the Equalizer Band as it has a different calculation when enabled for identifying Strong signals

It’s always supposed to be Once Per Bar Close - just was an error on our end

Question.. I’ve set some alerts for strong buy/sell and set it to once per bar close. Signal is given so I get in the trade, but when I check back the signal has gone. Using 15 minute time frame.

Different time frames give you different positions to take

Have currently got alert on eurjpy, it’s given me a strong sell alert which was on the chart when I checked. I entered it (on demo for now) but the signal has now gone. Signal was given at 15:45 utc+1, TradingView alert went off at 16:00. Now looking at the chart the sell signal is gone

Alerts are set per timeframe and per the settings you had when you set the alert

it’s impossible for that to happen if it was on Once Per Bar Close

Is there a recommended exchange to use? My pairs are all on fxcm. Alerts, you are correct, I set them originally without once per bar closed this morning, but then edited the alarm settings to alert once per close. But my question is, the alert has still disappeared. I had it on another pair earlier watching the strong signal appear and disappear as the candle moved. Is there anything that could cause this?

Our alerts in Discord are OANDA but they’re all mostly the same

Signals are confirmed on bar close, it’s impossible for them to disappear after being confirmed on bar close.

@mental patio So signals can appear/disappear during the life of a candle because a set of price conditions needs to be met. Once the candle is closed that signal is totally fixed

It won't go anywhere

And that's why alerts are always on candle close 🙂

And FXCM is totally fine

Which is diffrent to a strong signal

Let me show you

So this is a normal turn strong

The signal was initially a normal sell

But then we see a red candle, once that candle closes that means the sell signal has become strong

So the alert you created there is for this condition

This is a strong alert

As you can see it's created on that candle

Because it's already red 🙂

Ah. So if I created alerts on just strong sell/strong buy, and set it to once per bar closed I would have a confirmed strong signal

IXIC is Nasdaq Index and yes SPX is the S&P500 and we only have 2H+ because it would be too crowded and (generally) higher timeframes are better with Lux
