The algorithm uses past data from X candles. The higher the time frame the more data the algorithm has to work with the more educated its signals are and hence tend to be more reliable. Lower time frames will use the same amount of candles but due to it being a lower time frame it has less data to work with. For example: if the algorithm uses 10 candles of data, on the 15m chart that's 150m of data. However on the daily chart that's 10 days of data to generate a signal on.

Well it works on anything really, trading BTC pairs is a personal preference, no right or wrong answer

It’s usually a decision whether there seems to be a big opportunity specifically with the BTC pairs
