All I can say is the code for alerts is 10000% correct so any misalerts is on Tradingview's end so it's not something we can really go in and fix. What i suggest and sometimes fixes is remaking the alert

To all new traders, I wanted to give an unsolicited bit of advice. Set a time to stop trading even though the markets are open still. Sure, you will miss out on trades but you will help avoid overtrading and giving profits back. In general, once I'm profitable for the day I greatly reduce my position size by about 80% unless a setup is too good of course. Usually, I stop trading the SPY at around 11ish. My position size was reduced by 9:55am. There is no way I'm having a losing day today. Once I figured this out my PnL improved dramatically. A key is to forget about FOMO and don't go look back and what you could have made. We all do that and generally don't look at what we could have lost. It helps to have a partner help you quit for the day. My wife checks on me and holds me to my rules.

There is no perfect setting for any indicator. You have to address how you prefer to trade first then utilize the indicators to fit your style

trying to turn an indicator into a trading style is a recipe for disaster since you will balk at your own trading strategy since it doesn't fit your profile

hey i am new to forex buti got some questions, i set my lot size to where all my trades should have a max of 30dollars risk

I had 14 Put Debit Spreads 38/40 UAL expiring today.

UAL was trading at $32 so basically I was making money.

This morning TD ameritrade tells me that I’ve been assigned, they closed 11 and left 3.

Anyone know why this happened? I thought that at expiration I was supposed to receive full credit without worrying about assignment.

I’ve done credit put spreads and iron condors and never got assigned and they were in the money at expiration

I believe you just got unlucky this time (or lucky the others). I'm not really sure how that works but if its ITM it can be executed and assigned.

Building out a small sheet for what seems to indicate fairly well. They're more confirmation signals than preemptive signals but always good to have a second opinion when trading. I trust my simple methods of reading the chart, comparing candles to moving averages, checking on the MACD, then using luxalgo for confirmations

As opposed to using the algo, then trying to validate what the algo is thinking

So from my analysis, it pinged off support, MACD shows a slight shift in direction, crossed all moving averages, short MA is passing mid MA, and hopefully long MA serves as support

Mind you, I'm using small balances at the moment, getting used to implementing a new system is something that can be risky when you shift your internal "trust-o-meter" to data

^^ As it is here, the algo is definitely not predictive, nor is it meant to be. It is meant to CONFIRM and VALIDATE data, not predict it ahead of time - this being said, it is wise to be well rounded and educated on an actual trading strategy and using this as a tool, not the prophecy

I have just got Lux algo recently. The 1 minute and 3 minute charts look really good with the default settings with clouds + reversals and a stochastic. What kind of success have people had with these time frames? And what other timeframes work well for you?

Lower timeframes like that aren’t the best generally to trade solely on, although it’s totally up to your style @wanton urchin

If people are constantly losing money one tip I can give is go to a 30 min time frame or higher so ur getting less stopped out and then once profitable work your way slowly backwards

My labels are gone too. I disabled them once before and even after re-enabling them they don’t come back. Doesn’t bother me personally since I watch the candle coloring but I don’t get the labels on anything. If I remove & re-add I’m sure they’ll come back

So... instead of calculations- I just open a demo trade on 0.01 and see how much that’s valued... then, knowing my ATRx2.0 or ATRx1.5 (depending on the chart, of course), I can easily calculate what lot size I need to be risking 3%

with a 23m chart

I monitor all of the good auto trades but even if not, once a new signal pops up contrary to the current move the bot opens a new trade in that direction and closes the previous one
