Someone asked me in PM how to get good entries. I am no expert but this was my answer if anyone is interested. It seems to be working quite well for me:

I trade on the 15 min time frame but first look at all the higher time frames for a feel of the market and to look for the trend

I then look for a completion of a high or low on the 4 hour and drop down one by one down to the 15 min, then 5 min and sometimes even the 1 min for a perfectly timed entry

timing is critcal, if you miss a move by a lot of candles don't even bother with the move because it will likely be ending soon and you will be left on the wrong side

I use the Lux Volatility and MACD for confirmation of the swing up or swing down to time the exact entry. If Lux Volatility is on the lower boundary a reversal is pending soon, if on the upper boundary a pullback is pending and may be big or small. Both those things should line up with the completion of the swing up or down.

Also the lines of the MACD will reflect such on the oscillator and the mini trend lines will be making a move up or down through the oscillator

Also pay attention to how the equalizer bands move if you have that selected in the Lux settings

If you’re only using the 2H then you’d hold until you’re either happy with the profit or until your trend changes. If you used the 1D as your trend and 2H for entry then you’d hold until your 1D candle changes course or your satisfied with profit

If you’re using the 2H for entry I’d likely use the 1D for trend. So when the daily is bullish take strong buys on the 2H and vice versa.

On the 15m MACD, I’m just looking to see if it’s bullish or bearish. Personally, I don’t use it for divergences and I don’t use the histogram. Since it is measuring momentum on the 15min timeframe, I use that as my base for my sentiment. I put that on a 5min chart, alongside Lux signals and the Lux oscillator. I set my oscillator to 50. I’m using the 50osc as a current trend. So when my oscillator & MACD are in sync I’m looking to take strong buy signals only

Yesterday I saw a clear transition from bears to bulls when New York Session ended and Sydney Session began. It is evident to me that the different sessions trade against each other.

I was short in a pair that I cannot remember and I had closed the trade just before 5pm and lo and behold 5:01 hit and the bulls had taken over.

The bulls had taken control for the remainder of the session

That solidified my decision to never intra-day trade again. It's just too risky in these covid saturated markets.

Since the bot is running normal candlesticks and the default settings are heikin ashi candles as source and source is unchangeable now. Should I start using normal candlesticks again for stronger confirmation on the signals?

and then load it on

It would be great to create an alert regarding the market state (Ranging/Trending) so when using the 2 strats, strats can be switched automatically (one paused, the other active and vice versa).

Maybe Lux Volatility indicator can be used for this.

I would run the Lux Algo within 2 charts. When Lux vola < 0.25 I stop the bot with signal mode: confirmation and Activate the bot with the signal mode: Contrarian. When >0.25 ofc I will change this setup. Will work with 3commas and other bots I think.

But the announced trade setup release will be better ofc 🙂

@marble grove this area held as support from 8/24 until it broke out on 8/31. Double top on 10/12 & 10/13 at the $125 area. Gapped up 9th going into the 12th. I'm bearish until it makes a low of at least $117 (gap fill). & we've got lower highs on the MACD histogram. Not a bull yet, but I personally wouldn't hold shorts long term on it.

K, so don't forget that lux is not a magic money algo, You need to have a strategy that include lux, because in scalping/day trades you have a lot a fakes

and for you settings you can try to make some tests with a sensitivity between 5.5 & 6.5. You can keep the agility between 1.9 & 2
