shorting is selling a stock before you own it, so there is significantly more risk since it can go up infinitely theoretically, you would then have to buy at that price to cover. puts carry less risk since the max loss is the price of the contract

And @agile cliff yes, mainly just Coinbase Pro for trading crypto, never use Robinhood for it. Large hidden fees from what i know.
