#Tinkers Post - Please put your favorite combos here

Any matter manipulator experts here, looking at the builds here and they seem to feature hepatizon instead of osgloglas
is momentum actually worth it
This is a Good Question, I think osglo does more damage
mm is for mining
Looks like I should just be using disintegrate collar and osglogas everywhere else, no?
Hept probably provides more stats w/ momentum
since oslogas has like
extra dense and global right?
osglogas has a fatter % mining speed buff, no?
and a much higher base mining speed as well
osglo goes fast enough for me and not needing to deal with transferring stuff is nice. I could use backpack upgrades to get around it but eh, osglo works well for mining
Minecraft armor is weird, and I donβt think Iβll ever fully understand the equation, but toughness does definitely reduce the damage you take
more armor, more damage mitigation
more damage in a single hit, less damage mitigation
more toughness, less effect more damage does in decreasing damage mitigation
IE both stats are good, but in this modpack where bosses do 5 bajillion damage, not sure how effective +1 toughness is
but not like you have anything better to add other than +1 heart
Where are you in the game, just entered nether?
we answered this question earlier
And better question, what do you need heads for
If the answer is "blazing blood" the answer would be "don't"
it's really better because you just need 10 heads and you can start melting ichor
actually, less than that honestly
Just soul vial like, 2 blazes and chuck them in
I mean, cleaver is good if you're planning to daily drive it as your weapon
And it extends further to wither skulls later
But if it's for the express purpose of getting blazing blood from blaze heads, eh
cause i want an good hammer but too much item need blazing blood to cook
Manyullyn Ingot need it D:
Get a whole bunch of ichor and melt it with a blaze or two that you captured
what would be the armor to make after just entering the nether?
Depends on how much you want to bum rush
not planning to speedrun
Blaze netherite is something you can get very soon
Just go get a whole bunch of debris and blazing blood
how best should i go find netherite in this modpack?
Ars scrying for debris nets you like, 2 stacks of debris in one scry
If you chance upon a megavein, 6 stacks
For your first debris the usual, just dig down low and tunnel
wait, how do you get the most out of a debris?
You use your first debris to scry for more debris
invar rose gold/steel/manasteel haste modifier
actually just steel since invar doesn't proc in the nether iirc
Is jewelery worth investing? Stuff like necrotic for hp% DMG or resistance?
why haste? haste doesn't do anything for weapons.....
you'd want swift strike lmao
how?
do you have any good recommandation for a good #expert armor ?
And is there something to make an item "indestructible" like mending or so ?
mending doesn't make an item unbreakable...lmao
you can repair it without cost
He's just saying that he wants gear that doesn't need to be repaired manually with cost
expert has blaze netherite which is really good
Chromatic Steel does that very well, just have some power gen
chromatic steel is late expert mode imo
Did he specify where he was in game
i assumed early nether
Yes and no, I'm in the great bellow
great below is late expert i'd say?
You can probably bumrush chromatic steel already
yea
I think I can, just need to find how ahah
and for the weapon, i'll take the "Usurper" someone did

You can do chromatic steel plating + blizz enderium maelle since blizz enderium is a prerequisite to chromatic steel
i'm doing it dw
If you want to bother with dragons you can do dragonsteel plating + CS maelle
chromatic dragonsteel armor i call it π
Either ways, what's important is that you immediately slap on max melee prot and some magic prot once you're done with your armor
don't forget revitalized
So i'm doing the 2 parts in Chromatic steel ?
Oh my bad
both chromatic steel and blizz enderium are both pretty bad for plating imo
What would you put on as plating if not dragonsteel
blaze netherite is good
And blizz enderium is definitely not plating, I stated maelle since it has no effect on the output armor
forgot about that
Why's blaze netherite better than CS? I haven't checked and compared their stats in hindsight
since dragonsteel is super difficult rn, blaze netherite is a good alternative
i never said it was better? all i said was "blaze netherite is good"
^
Chromatic steel is bad for plating, but blaze netherite is good for plating
You saying that without context makes it easy to assume as such
well, i'm not the best at explaining things so
Are you trying to make a point about the resource cost of making CS plating armor
Ok so i do Blaze Netherite plate and CS Maelle, is that good ?
That it's not worth the effort
actually, chromatic steel isn't bad for plating
^
ok thank you
blaze netherite is good because it repairs itself if on fire
but lower armor values than chromatic
Last I checked it's a straight upgrade, no
oh, true
Thermal Enhance inherits the fire regen
It has more armor
It has power durability which is arguably wayyyy more convenient
And all the other goodies from the other elemental metals
yea, i'm just not thinking right now
Ok, and what is the simplest heater to melt ?
To melt what
the CS
Pyrotheum
But it's still a whole chore
Get a bunch of oil from 2 sources, do a bunch of refining, mix with blazing blood
Good news is that you barely need any to smelt all the tools and Armor you want, just don't use it for stuff that doesn't need it
1 bucket is enough, 2 if you want to future proof a little
To craft your Armor you're probably only using like, 1/10th of a bucket
So you don't have to automate, just small scale chug out some pyrotheum
Ok, thank you
Ye, i dont actually know if im wasting defence slots w ig but tbh dont rly mind it
^to hit max
Magnetic caves discovery gives a pretty free additional defence slot so am not wasting any of the actually expensive slot boosts
Interesting
you couldve also had magic prot
Should i then switch like hat and boots to idk projectile? Prot
Man I just don't understand tinker's armor, at least midgame or without acs
A dragonsteel chestplate is 15 armor 6 toughness
A dragonsteel tinker's chestplate is 13 armor 5 toughness with a diamond and netherite
Isn't this just way worse for no reason
Sure, tinker's stuff has melee prot, but is lower armor melee prot 4 really going to protect more than higher armor normal prot 4
Is tinker's just... only better endgame
FTR, tinkers' specced prots are twice as effective as a single level of regular prot
Well yeah but you can have more levels of prot
is 16% melee protection worth losing 2 armor 1 toughness, is the question I guess
2 armor and 1 toughness is literally nothing
you're taking 36% damage vs taking 20% damage
you're basically taking almost half the damage with 80% vs 64%
55.5% of the damage if you want to be specific
armor has diminishing returns the higher you go
7 vs 5 armor is a lot different than 15 vs 13 armor
side note, is blizz enderium unironically better than cs dragonsteel
1337 lol
35 Toughness
35 Armor
That's the total tally for CS + BE
For dragonsteel + CS, I believe its
38 Armor
22 Toughness
ive been wondering the same thing lol
You get way more toughness, but slightly less armor, and less resistance to dragon breath
which to be fair dragon breath is one of the killers in this modpack
but like for everything else, that toughness goes a long way in mitigating damage from the huge boss hits
Doesn't toughness cap at 20? The vanilla wiki damage function implies it does, though idk how relevant that is
oh, does it?
Been trying to make sense of this for a while, but at least that part seems clear
The maximum damage mitigation is 80%: damage * 1 - min(20, ~)/25
The higher min(20, ~) is, the less damage you take, so ~ at 0 means you take full damage, and ~ at more than 20 means that 20 is selected as the value instead
I guess an important question is what's, like, the scale of the raw damage numbers being taken
Do dragons do like 200 damage with breath or something? 100? 300?
The minimum damage mitigation is 20% of your armor points
they just got nerfed I believe
Lightning stage 5 used to do 377.5 damage, now its 152.5
They hit around that damage mark with breath attacks
You don't even need that. A melting pan bypasses that need entirely. Mine like 2 blocks of ichor max with it and you've got enough blood to make a tonne more
why SO MUCH?
Probably from mce1
Without considering how much weaker the player is this time around
Ok, let's assume tinker's dragonsteel with specific prot, etc has just 80% dr against everything, which isn't possible but who cares, while normal dragonsteel just has prot 4, and both have the full 20 toughness
The tinker's armor has 38 armor with diamonds, while the dragonsteel has 46 armor.
Against a 150 damage attack, tinkers takes 10.11, while non tinker's takes 10.8
I'm not trying to argue that tinker's is worse here, that's a whole 7% improvement, and the upgrade slots just make tinker's better, but my point is I think you're undervaluing armor a little, especially at higher damage values. I mean, most damage taken is at lower damage, where armor does clearly matter a lot less, so ig the tinkers is just better. At that point, the fact that tinker's has a limited amount of defense slots starts to matter more, where if you start taking projectile damage you're just absolutely screwed, but I'm inclined to trust your guy's word that melee damage is most damage. Isn't dragon breath magic though? (doesn't matter, you can have maxed magic and melee defense)
Side note, very strangely, now that I'm trying to graph it, from 154 to 214 damage taken, the normal dragonsteel actually starts taking less damage than tinker's, to a maximum of 44% more at 182 damage. That's... weird?
X is damage incoming, y is actual damage taken
sooo regular dragonsteel armor better than tinker's dragonsteel...?
I don't think so?
that's what i'm getting from this
It seems to be that tinkers is better at chip damage but protects you from oneshots less at some specific damage amounts
if ACS + blizz enderium is the best armor combination, then dragonsteel is just something to show off at this point
if i replace my rose gold paille with blizz enderium, do i lose an upgrade slot?
so if i've done all the upgrades on the item, I lose one?
it won't let you unless you have an upgrade slot available
there is a list in this thread
you may have to search for it tho, its a bit high up at this point
At any rate, wouldn't the best armor just be the meka suit
is mek better than tinker dragonsteel + chromatic?
Isn't it complete invulnerability provided you have power
no
well never mind then lol
it's not 100%
tray, do u have recs on a tinkers melee wep, any mats except antimatter
rn, im rocking cs + manyullyn and blizz enderium handles sword
i'm using daggers and a cleaver
What's the point of the blizz enderium maille? Metamorphium seems like it would just be offensive
If that is the case, then acs + be armor seems... just awful, even with the 5% chance to take 0 damage factored in
For reference
X axis is incoming damage
Y axis is actual damage received by your health bar
Blue is tinker's dragonsteel, 80% protection
Red is normal dragonsteel, prot 4
Purple is acs, 80% protection
It starts high for a moment and then falls off hard
Ig the scaling is a bit misleading actually, idk if anything does more than ~150 damage
Except dragon breath honestly
Well dragon breath is what's doing 150
what upgrades i should use for dragonsteel chrom?
Bosses may still go through entire health bars, even at 80 hp with full armor
like the first few updates
Melee prot 80% total, and revitalized
Anyway I still wanna know
Why is acs + be the combination, and not like acs + acs
Acs seems like one of the few (if any) materials that protects you as a maille
In fact... dragonsteel plate + acs maille
Wouldn't that be the best by far
It 100% is the best tinker's armor
what mats did u use for the daggers?
densium + chromatic steel
osgloglas is best alternative
and it gets even better if you decide to go for the shield / battlesign trait that raises the tinker's prot max to 90 or 95%
actually, looks like it's antimatter plating antimatter maille. lol
oh wait no garbage toughness
lemme recheck that
my toughness rn is 32 lol
12 wasted π
eh
42 armor though π
don't we have a mod that fixes the cap for armor/toughness?
Well that would be helpful to know, because it would make all of my graphs wrong
lol
there it is π
So how does that change the damage formula, just uncapping armor and toughness?
yea, it really just uncaps the vanilla values
rn max is 100 but that's no where near plausible (this is for toughness)

Through armor + other stuff, not just armor right
yea, basically every possible stat in minecraft
ok good
it also accounts for stats added by mods too
I meant your specific armor
Wanted to make sure there wasn't a combo I missed
Anyway this is the fixed graph
Antimatter plating + maille is the best at low damage, tinkers dragonsteel plating alone makes itself the best at high damage values
adding in antimatter maille just makes dragonsteel plating better than antimatter plating at lower values, but that isn't shown here because lazy
so what you're saying is.... chromatic dragonsteel is best armor
Chromatic is worse than antimatter overall
Chromatic maille gives a 24% damage reduction, antimatter gives 25% lmao
so yes chromatic is better because the five billion non defense effects
wasn't it 20%?
It also gives 5% to cancel damage, and .8 * .95 is .76
but that's with the different modes though
The 5% from blitz defense happens at all modes
heh?
at least, that's what it says happens
could be lying
It's from thermal enhance not flux shield
well, i literally just closed my game so i don't feel like starting it up just to check that π
Blitz defense is the 5% I'm talking about
is it worth making a powered spawner for thermal blazes for chromatic steel mats?
Flux shield gives a different 5%
ah, that
you could just do a drygmy farm...easier and saves on power
hmm I thought about that, havent used drygmys before and my source supply is a hopper above a food source link but maybe
multi-layer melon/pumpkin farm with an agronomic sourcelink is best mid-game
late-game would be infinite lava
create charcoal farm would be good as well
well i do have infinite lava already for my blaze smelter i could do that
yea, best bet
i have a fluid encapsulator filling buckets and piping that out to multiple volcanic sourcelinks, it's a really.........weird setup
nice
weird that dreadsteel doesnt give any more armor at all
dreadsteel is awful in this pack
I luckily had a lava ocean conveniently below my blaze spawner and just set up a few waterwheels and some pipes
you should use a hose-pulley instead
oh i am
k
i love the infinite supply mechanic from create
definitely the best armor at taking specifically damage instances from 154 to 262 damage though
lol
that's weirdly specific
but still lets you get 1 shot from just about anything in the game :/
If we're defining 1 shot as >50 damage or something, it would take a 320 damage hit to do that
tbf, we have a thing that prevents 1 shots but still
I mean, if my math is wrong, my math is wrong, but I think it's right, so getting one shot doesn't make sense
it's wild that no one ever seems to have made a mod to easily check the damage you could take
like a reverse dummy
I'm pretty sure the mmmmm dummy is taking 1.8 damage from the terra modifier's "7 damage", which is strange
does it have like magic resist or something
i have no idea
making lightning and ice dragonsteel is just so painful
its better than ice, but its still ~50 enderium shards per steel so a lot of scrying
pretty sure fortune doesnt work on the ore either
no it doesn't sadly
adam said he was going to make enderium and neptunium a bit easier
new gateways
don't remember when exactly but i'm 90% sure that's the plan
wdym by new gateways?
you know the eternal invasion gateway
more like that
but it gives you neptunium and stuff when you finish it, instead of a progression item
oh sick, btw a lot of the gateways are still bugged no?
oooo that sounds amazing
most of the base ones still have problems yes
it's not exactly "bugs" but more of an issue with gamestages and the different difficulties you unlock and the mobs that come with them
i dont think thats true since i finished end and i still cant do the emerald gateway for farm animals
it's definitely not intended either way
i rlly shouldnt have any mobs unaccessible at this point i think
why do you need to farm animals through gateways? drygmy farms exist
just wanted a barn lol
practicality be damned
lol
i love utility-based gameplay, but animals add some nicety to a place thats just torn apart by machinery and whatnot lol
all i got rn are 12 rats fishing for neptunium
i've seen someone with 20 rats fishing lmao
and 20 is prob insufficient too lol
who knows
true
hope the gateways are worth it for neptunium
i hope the gateway is hard if its for neptunium ngl
post-end combat is practically non-existent since the gear outpaces at enemies except maybe dragons (until u get some dragonsteel armor)
dragons are weaker than most bosses if you exclude the dragon breath
progression wise, i feel like the modpack evolves from an adventure modpack to a tech-heavy modpack after you break through end. not sure if that was the intent
Is there a way i can make a tinker weapon that outshines the Sharp X Dreadscythe you get?
after you do the eyes, there's not a lot of exploration
nope xD. wdym u get? o,o
Quest reward
a lot of mid-game tinker's weapons outclass the dreadscythe completely
except outer space i suppose, but thats largely in pursuit of mats for tech
which one?
mid-game already?
osgloglas and chromatic steel, blizz enderium too
1000 day Challenge
btw tray, u were so right about chromatic steel. def a pinnacle material
dreadscythe is early game
CCan you show me an example? I'm really bad at tinker
we are talking about the one that takes dreadsteel right? one of each dragonsteel ingot?
I super invested into a osoglas cs sword when I feel like I should have made a cleaver
i don't feel like loading my game but generally using osgloglas for the head part and chromatic steel for the plate or even handles is good enough
I'm hitting 200 DMG crits with osol/blizz/chromatic so imagining it with higher DMG scaling
cleavers are really the best weapon type :/
I'm wondering if scythes might be good with the goety glove
goety glove?
if ur making cleaver, i personally really like blizz enderium since it does freeze & 2x damage for burned enemies - add a flame modifier
but katanas are cooool xD
There's a goety glove that increases atk speed for scythes by 50 percent
Any specific upgrades/abilites you'd use on that?
okay but consider the other passive that just increases stats by 25% across the board for free
What for final endgame?
which mat is that? osglo?
I mean modifiers seem to matter less than the inherent effects of your mats
blizz enderium
oh from metamorphium? true
some cases, yes...others no
metamorphium increases by DPS by like 40%
for weapons it seems crucial
btw tray, is there no dragonsteel for tinkers melee? i didnt see it in the encyclopedia
don't think so
if it's not there, then it's not there
mm fair enough lol
adam said he had plans for it, and dreadsteel too i think?
dude 720 mb of densium LOL
someimes yes, sometimes osgloglas is your best
def most damage, but its SO expensive....
I mean does densium not outclass osgloglas
densium isn't expensive
i made two tool handles and it ate through material
it's not expensive at all, you just need a lot of cheap materials
iridium is the most annoying to get but once you have an ore, you can easily get more
the one thing i won't say is cheap is dragonsteel or the mekanism tinker's materials obviously
how much osmium and refined obby is it
honestly the iridium or osmium wasnt the issue, it was the obsidian that kept getting burnt through. perhaps expensive wasnt the best choice of words, but its a pain lol
you had issues with obsidian? :/ i had a farm for it long before i planned to use densium
how do u farm obby?
it's a thermal machine
literally just
i had a lava farm and i kinda just build onto it with magma crucible for obby
I have looked, I was wondering if there was some non recipe interaction I missed
what part of the cleaver would you make out of it?
Whys that?
broad blade goes to osgo
i don't like blizz enderium's handle stats
both handles?
you get like
40 atk SP and 20 DMG from both handles I think
with cs
it DOES stack with two handles right??
yea
yeah yuge
man that's a lot of CS for me, having a hard time finding the Blitz and Blizz for it
i'd love to see the Tinker's Planner mod from 1.16.5 get ported......
drygmy farm
blitz - savanna
blizz - any cold
alright, thanks
have we tried basalz signalum?
the I frame cut seems cool
heh?
Short Circuit removes I frames on hit
hm
alternatively tectonic shards does blizz enderium DMG but when player is on fire
does basalz signalum require blazing blood to melt down?
thought so
WOAH
@pulsar lodge would you guys consider this??
INSTALLING RN
i will convince adam to add this
i have only used in enigmatica 6 but damn is it awesome

please convince adam
we need this in the base pack
yes it's client side but it's a GOD SEND
i really hope it shows the custom modifiers
if you already have it, can you check for custom modfiers??
What is this pack
wait do cleavers only have 2 upgrade slots?
stacked sword
oh, cleaver

nvm
how do tantrum modifiers look in the selector i want to know
tantrum?
which ones are tantrum modifiers?
gimme a couple names to look for
overmending, veinmining, overcharging, ferromagnetic
ah yea, they're here π
how they look, does it like show the icons
yummy :)
do i just use
it's beautiful
what
mm
tbh there's just not enough options for rings
by chest ability to gen slime do you mean overcharging?
i would figure it's either that or overmend
unfortunately blueprint isnt compat with armory
but unfortunately they won't work
yeah overcharging
overcharge and overmend specifically look at your vanilla "equipment slots"
so they don't factor in curios at all
will this be implemented friend :)
i could add compat but it might be broken as heck
i mean its like
for overcharge i guess it would be ok though
kinda don't want to do it for overmend
mm then again it would be fine probably
was there a way to remove a modifier in the planner?
ok i will look into adding curio reading for overcharge and overmend when tinkers' jewelry is installed
might not do it for next update but maybe i will
still cooking some big cursed and cool things for tantrum atm
what is tantrum looking to add @pulsar lodge
uh
cause i would kill for a free modifier for enderio staff of travelling
cool stuff that we could not do without code
mm
i don't know about a slotless one
that is a strong capability
i could make it an ability though
god but it will have to cost something
and it's usually RF so i would have to add an RF-holding modifier then
or i could just make it like, damage the tool
either or since there is a lot of stuff with inherent rf storage
is primordial strength supposed to not show the added damage?
yeah that thing is coded strangely
maybe a modifier for crit?
uh wdym
like, increasing crit chance?
man i wish blitz lumium wasn't broken
PLEASE
i wanna use daggers but man, bosses have so much armor and piercing doesn't help at all
there's no random crits i'm pretty sure
how does apoth do it?
oh wait no maybe we do have them
was gonna say, apotheosis adds random crits
uhh i would have to figure out what mod is adding them
i know apothatt does have stats
but they could just be nonfunctional
unlikely but you never know
i was comparing stats with my own weapon and i'm wondering how much metamorphium will buff it
do yall recommend tinkers armor with 2 pc chormatic steel maille and 2 pc iridium maille
dragonsteel plate
i mean, it's one or the other
the one thing i don't like about tinker's planner is...no armor planning
so i should do either all chromatic steel or all iridium?
okay thanks
iridium doesn't look that great
Why is it only tier 3 mana boost and regen? Seen people with tier 4
ah so like "pyromancer set" thingie?
yeah
you need all four for set bonus as well but each piece will give one more level of enchants
I feel like if you have at least one piece of osglo you're good, I assume a lot of it is mainly for the global traveler so you don't have to worry about your inv filling up
is there a theoretical best master-tier melee weapon?
best i'm seeing is densium handle with antimatter blade
so from testing with two nearly identical weapons, it feels as though cleaver and sword perform at around the same level.
what's interesting to see is that the dps on the sword is higher due to its faster swings when quelled/activated compared to empowered due to how empowered waves work.
empowered cleaver dps
empowered sword dps
activated sword dps
activated cleaver dps
that being said, the crits on the cleaver are so mega giga high for no reason
to be honest what might be the strongest could be the katana since it has four material slots but that's to be seen
damn what parts do u have on that?
how do you even get it to do that much damage?
Wait a minute
I think Iβm misunderstanding what antimatter armor does
Thereβs no way having four parts makes you invulnerable, so it has to be multiplicative if it does what I think it does at all
Butβ¦ does it notβ¦
Does a set of all antimatter plating and maille make you just take 1/16th damage from everything
i don't think that's how it works...
Yeah it canβt be
But I donβt know
i highly doubt it all stacks with each other
Hello !
I have a question
Is there a way to increase our iron's spell mana with tinker ?
there's modifiers from construct's casting
i see thx ! have a great day !
here why is one upgrade I and the other II ?
and is there a way to upgrade and upgrade ?
what
i mean i can assume this is on like, a sword or something, yes?
in this version of tinkers, traits have level stacking
so if you have 2 parts with the same trait at level 1, building a tool with both will make it level 2
if this does not answer your question, your question needs some rewording, it is difficult to understand what you're trying to ask.
no you are answering to my question ! thx ( sorry for the wording im new to this mod)
how's your attack speed so high on the cleaver?
chromatic steel lets you switch through modes where empowered increases atk speed and makes you shoot elemental waves(lower DPS actually lol)
that being said, my cleaver swings as fast as a regular sword too 1.6
You can't recoup TC components, can you?
Right, but that dude in main chat was talking about Densium being in the nether and it was raising my bs flag
Anyone know the best sword/ cleaver pre-osmium? Havent gone to that dimension yet and my swords a bit ehh
but melt the ichor in the Foundry, not the smeltery
What is this?
client side mod that lets you make a prospective tool with all materials
this was me prototyping with the mod
invar is your best bet. it has 2.5 ATK DMG and can scale up to have +9 extra damage anywhere that isn't a tundra/nether
Wouldnt densium be better instead of osglo?
generally looking at around 15-2 0 DMG with a normal sword
I'm going to spend 720 refined obsidian and osmium on a cleaver I'm not sure will be good.
Ah sorry, thought this was test world testing.
it's a negligible damage difference especially with mek mats on the horizon
When? :o
testing the mats w/ tiplanner then I made it
when I get to making a fission reactor
What would you be using from mek for the cleaver?
lol
Yeah antimatter feels like a no-no to me
any upgrades at this point are negligible since my DPS is as high as it'll probably get
As long as rage gloves are as they are DPS is negligible anyway isnt it?
maybe I do rage glove dagger no iframe build but basalz signalum seems broken
the reason why rage gloves are b strong is because of the way mce2 is balanced
Why does everyone use Rageglove with dagger tho?
where you are taking 99% of your HP as DMG anyway
more atks==more stacks for the infinitely stacking DMG buff
I guesse that makes sense
Wouldnt antimatter work pretty well then? Pumping yourself to 1 HP to activate the rageglove atk speed
realistically I should use it but I cba getting rid of my pickaxe smelter
Out of curiosity, have you tried making a Dual Wield cleaver build?
the way the anti one shot works is that it doesn't allow your hp to go below half a heart in a single attack. hitting twice with the antimatter weapon if it DOES self harm would kill you instantly
Fair
seems like a waste, I'd rather a parry modifier dagger
parry modifier?
additionally the spirit of this test was to see which weapon type is better
after an attack with a dagger there is a brief window where you block incoming DMG
How do you add that?
I forget, dagger exclusive
anyway pre nether full invar cleaver/katana 3 swift strike then sharpness and post add manyllyn sword head
work into chromatic/osloglas
actually less swift strike for a emerald
Looking at nahuatl handle, blaze nether handle, man plate man blade but its so slow
rageglove increases attack and attack speed per consecutive attack. w/ daggers that focus on high attack speed, it just works super well
cleaver is a two handed wep, how could u dual wield
it seems like such a pain to make. i dont want to get into nuclear energy just to make a bit of anti-matter
We have anti matter in our base on our server already. But the self damage chance just doesnt seem worth it
From how i understand it explodes both you and the enemy
oh interesting...
btw era, im working on a cleaver, mind giving ur input?
densium blade, osglo and iridium handles, cs plate
ah gotcha
not sure if my input is useful
no trouble
Seems decent tho
ive gone from hater to enthusiast but still working things out
im thinking about swapping out the iridium handle - its really bringing down the attack speed which sucks. maybe blizz enderium - capitalize on the extra attack speed and metamorphium
only attack damage ATK speed roid is from HP loss
which should only be a damage steroid?
it stacks infinitely a % DMG increase dealt and received
yeah it doesnt increase attack speed per consecutive hit, the 2nd ability is regen, atk speed and movement speed based on missing hp
does second ability still make ur screen tweak tf out
oh the first one then
each attack made within 3 seconds after the last accumulate a charge (along w/ damage taken), which increases damage dealt
movement speed.
and dealt damage
whats the best sword/pickaxe/armor combo you can get before nether?
can this be improved?
how do you get more modifiers on a tinker's tool?
What's a good combo for early game/pre nether
I acquired guns from the create mod, now I wanna get a decent cleaver/tools and armour, though I'd ask here
i did this
brass handle, rosegold binding and amethyst bronze head, can be made as a hammer too
Gotta make armor/cleaver but no idea yet
How can I get more lvls of defense modifier? I see I can only get 2 more but then I won't have lvl 5 melee prot
could you provide a pic of the modifiers?
im early expert mode and currently using the blade of the blahaj and need smt new any suggestions?
I love playing the bow and arrow route. Now I know tinkers no longer makes arrows but whatβs a great combo for a bow? We are in the nether now.
bows aren't THAT great, although i've seen one that's pretty decent
Yeah Iβve gathered itβs not the best ranged route, Iβm not big into the guns and itβs how Iβve always played is all.
Is anti matter worth it for armor? Should I do chromatic and anti matter, chromatic and dragonsteel, or wait to do chromatic and an end amterial?
anti-matter is theoretically the best material but not worth doing
What do you suggest then? Is densium worth it?
it's higher base stats than osgloglas so y e s
so chromatic and densium or densium and something else?
chromatic steel is realistically one of the best materials for the RF storage
yeah i have dragonsteel and chromatic im just trying to see if anythings better
dragonsteel is best armor material
just cause of its base stats or are the modifers it gives good? idk what they do
ductile and dragon scales
stats mainly
sounds good
Tested it, full antimatter does in fact make you take almost no damage, even without upgrades. Not sure if it's .75^8 or .5^4, but it's hard to test and I'm lazy
that's really OP but again, not worth sadly
Iβm gonna assume full empowered acs is almost as op
i mean yea....it prevents 20% damage plus more stuff
I mean antimatter is worth i think
You can rely on the high damage reduction and do chromatic plating and antimatter maille
it'll take ten years but you'll get there eventuakly
does the antimatter explosion blow up blocks tho?
Claim the chunks first and it shouldn't
thanks!
I donβt think it ever does?
What materials do you guys use for your armor?
chromatic steel
prog is bronze -> cobalt -> chromatic steel -> chromatic + dragonsteel
blaze netherite should be in there after cobalt imo
what is the best sword combot you can do in MCE2?
this seems like a waste of mats when you can jump immediately to chromatic
it's hardly a waste
i'm not seeing its value aside from a higher toughness value. you're econing the same amount of upgrade slots by getting natural melee prot w/ cobalt as you are netherite on blaze neth
24 blaze netherite that could go towards a chromatic set seems wasteful
you can always recycle the set and get back the materials
it doesn't work like that
you can't melt down full tools/armor for the materials back
you can scrap at a part builder, but that only recovers one part
how's that work?
tool at part builder
you can pick one of the parts
you can take it, but the tool gets destroyed
well now you do
would a modifier for breathing in ad astra space with tinker's armor be possible?
it would be possible
but doesn't astra not have like a space breathing enchantment
or have i just not looked at it that hard
not that i know of? unless i'm blind
Doesn't "Oxygenated" do that?
isn't that for water breathing?
oh right
the uh i think tinkers' integrations and tweaks mod adds astra materials as tool materials
its from the space materials tho
this
idk what those do
yeah but it means making into a modifer should be ez pz if desired
yea, i don't think anyone's going to waste the maille slot just to breath in space
btw i've been adding stuff to the spreadsheet that we've missed and i'm probably still missing materials/traits
I'm free from my chains but recovering and catching up on other stuff
anything major change in the formatting while i was MIA?
no, pretty much the same
just adding and changing things
it's hard to tell what's missing at this point
i found astra's main method that handles breathing stuff https://github.com/terrarium-earth/Ad-Astra/blob/bfa70ac3db6dca1c02ed6fad5be62649b2c23906/common/src/main/java/earth/terrarium/adastra/common/systems/OxygenApiImpl.java#L70
looking down the chain at SpaceSuitItem static methods, i would need a mixin to do it cleanly, as i did with ferromagnetic
so it shouldn't be too hard to do since you've already done it once?
i mean it wouldn't be
i just don't really want to like, tamper with astra's balance
though i suppose it would be fine if it were a much later thing
that's fair but ad astra is super boring right now and havig to swap armor sets JUST to go mining for a few minutes doesn't feel intuitive
what i'm concerned about is mostly tinker gear with the breathing modifier overshadowing the astra suits in all regards
which is why it being a later thing is fine, because if it's an option you unlock later then they've served most of their purpose
the jet suit would also still have its niche of the whole jetpack function i think
ad astra armor sets have no purpose other than allowing you to breath in space for the most part......making the modifier require an item from late game ad astra would be fine i think, like calorite if there's nothing later
jet suit is nice though i'll say
make the modifer require an alloy using one of each of the oxygenated items.
maybe make it require a whole jetsuit chest piece or somethin?
i don't want to make it require jet suit items if it won't have jet suit functions
because that would be a lot to add
probably just calorite or such as a core part would be good
So if i make an activated Chromatic steel maille then i just need to power my armor to keep it unbreakable?
netherite space protection could be an upgrade
or theoretically it could just require the netherite modifier
could also be a builtin property
though i think for customization reasons it makes sense to do one of the first two
tantrum is designed for MCE2, but i do want it to be usable and flexible outside of it
makes sense
anyone got any recommendations for a Normal Mode tinker's armor set?
manasteel plate
what parts did you use this for?
Probably osgloglas blade, enderium plate, chromatic steel and osgloglas tough tool handles
should i do a densium handle instead if osglo?
Maybe? Idk if the massive speed penalty is worth it
fair
So do I just need a wet sponge to remove traits?
wet sponge and a slime crystal, dependent on the type of modifier you want to remove
Severing
the tinkers' gadgetry book has some details on the specifics atm
there's also a JEI tab
but the crystal is dependent on slot type
How can I increase my max defense slots on my armour?
telecore + 2 blocks of scarlet and azure neodymium
theres also a rebalance for defence slots
is that all there is?
There are 2 defend upgrades can't remember which, but look at encyclopedia of tinker
Helped me a lot to see which updates are good how can boost my slots in armor
I never messed with tinkers this much so all my knowledge comes from here lmao
so far so good
yea, there's only one trait that gives an extra defense slot afaik

only one that is strictly defense slot
we should get one more at least...
as mentioned rebalanced defense is an option
oh, sure
and the mekanism atomic alloy modifier from TAdv says it is supposed to give a defense slot
those are definitely quite high tier compared to the first though
i don't remember if it actually does or not
could be worth adding another that's around midgame
just a matter of finding the right flavor for it
quad singularity + 256k does also say it gives both upgrade and ability but it only gives upgrade
yeah it does
i changed it to ability for next patch tho
oh there will also be edging technology in next patch
since it gives 1 of every slot now because funny
would be funny if the rat token could be used as a modifer

oh my god
that would be so goddamn expensive
but also like, rats bonus slot is a good thread
the token that opens the portal that is
i'm already planning on adding oratchalcum for tinkers
not the icon of ratlantis thing
after all, you do win the lottery by getting it :)))
for an early game defense slot modifier, use various ingots and call the modifier "Dwarven Delight" or something?
sounds good on paper
if the portal token would be too cheap
an equally funny would be the neo-ratlanteans psionic brain
holds so much knowledge it is enough to grant an extra ...
would probably be like alloys or something, and i could call it alloyance

oooh actually i might do that
probably not for defense though
maybe
yeaaa that works lmao
gives more incentive for players to visit the magnificence that is ratlantis
||lowkey hoping for some funny use for the ratcubes||
whats the best fluid for matter manipulators?
blazing blood probably
may we look at densium and realize that it doesn't give extra dense(stat boost) unless it's a head part
Is there Looting for Tinkers Weapons I cant seem to find a Upgrade for it
yeah i did osglo
"lucky"
Lol. Does that work with Bows?
it should work for most things
What are best parts for a cleaver?
interestingly, and maybe my fault if this is the case, primordial strength II (the second level) is not adding any damage to my cleaver. I can only wonder if thats because I already have sharpestest as well?
this is what it looks like, decided to just add a lil bit of swiftstrike to it, not that 25% of a 0.9 speed did much, but better than prim stre II not doing anything
it adds it to the final damage on hit, it's weird.
rip, maybe after I get those singularity upgrades in the future lol
I've spent so long trying to optimize my weapon, anyone got a solid master difficulty tier set up for tools? I still have expert diff set ups for them
densium handle is super griefiny you I'd rec chromatic or Oslo if you really wanted. the only real master tier upgrade for weapons is a irradium blade
it drops like 8-10 damage with either of those handles, for not that much atkspe, and with the % inc from rage gloves it ramps really big off just 3-4 swings. Unless you meant for tools specifically.
it should be increasing your attack speed by a .5 minimum?
the sweet spot is 1.5-2
this is considering haste/echoing
its already got 1 osg handle, and i replaced the acs handle with another dens one once I got the mats, trade off was like .3 atkspe i think
seems like it should be more severe than that but either way the biggest upgrade is just
That was before I put swiftstrike tho, so maybe worth now?
for mining tools, Im just throwing osglog handles on everything, whats the new best head material if you know?
osgloglas is the best head part
actually considering this, I feel like two osloglas handles + densium head is the best tool
you're forgetting chromatic steel
he said he doesn't want it and I kinda get it since extra dense is free stats here
i just dont see what acs adds to the weapon, its already on armor, is there something to the trait im not seeing / or being blinded by raw stats?
i guess the empowered stuff, never charged the weapon so I never considered it...
more for the convenience of never needing to repair
extra damage too
empowered is actually less dps
on cata bosses at least due to their super strange damage cap
new weapon tech
it has similar dps to the cleaver (which considering cata dmg caps is the best weapon) but can one shot most common mobs
Anyone know what empowered vs activated does for armor pieces?
Assuming, if nothing else is different it is just: Activated consumes most power for biggest effect, empowered less so and quelled none?
activated grants a 5% chance to block an attack entirely, empowered does that + up to 20% damage reduction based on power drained
whats best materials for weapons?
yea, that heavily depends on what you want
i have 7 upgrade slots on my sword, is it worth to just go full quartz, or add amethyst for speed
i mean, always go sharp
Is there any way to prevent mob spawns in a large area? Like the mega torch?
brazier
What materials did you use?
And for what
In pic:
densium handle
Osglog handle
Blitz end large plate
Densium blade
At the advice of the others I switched the densium handle for activated chromatic steel. It went from 55 damage to 40ish, but went up to like 1.55 atk speed and with feral claw giving 0.4 thatβs pretty nutty. Also now that I remembered you can give power to the acs trait itβs actually really strong, way more dps
Sounds about Strong enough for now, currently not having any Sword since I accidentally dropped it mid Fire Guy Bossfigh in the Nether. Now I need a replacement until I can make the Scythe
Also, does the Cleaver get the Sweepy Edge or the Combat Mod movement or is it a One Swing One Hit Weapon like the Axe?
Quartz is decent i think
Osloglass blade, b.enderium plate, active chromium and voltaic rods any good?
UHH
looks about right w/o feral or rage I hit 1.2k
cleaver gets greatsword animations two swings into a downward slam
So it is like Sweepy Edge?
idk i dont even think the enchant applies w/ better combat
currently i have myself a stack of netherite scrap. should i make manyullin armor/weapons? or is there a better option to try and go for with armor and weapons?
currently still running around with manasteel armor/tools so i am in very much need of a solid upgrade
Best sword for expert mode?
Is there a way to keep a campfire burning for longer?
You can find campfire's that burn forever in the wild
bring one home with a cardboard box
cant you put magma cream on it to do that too tho
So out of curiosity, are there any plans for creating a build section on that spreadsheet. There used to be an old tinker's spreadsheet for MCE1 that had builds for beginning, mid-tier, and endgame
For general combat, would it be better to go for Blaze-Netherrite? Or Manyulin for the main plating?
This is for early expert
blizz enderium is good for melee
interesting idea..... @hollow vine
Builds? Like smeltery examples or what?
Equipment builds
ohhhh
Hmm, I like the idea, but people should still be able to be creative with their tools and not just follow a preset
So maybe we could do materials that compliment each other
or work well together
material spotlights for mats that are good or stay relevant
i.e. invar for weapons / bronze for tools
Good to know.
As the main plate material? Or the maille?
well, blizz enderium increases the stats based on the durability lost, up to 25%...for weapons it'd obviously increase the overall damage
Maille
Blizz Enderium stats are very lackluster
we use it solely for the metamorphium trait
For the main plating, go for blaze netherite, or activated chromatic steel if you can
manyullyn armor is meh
more of a weapon blade material
Gotcha. Activated chromatic steel is still a far ways off. Havent really done much of the tech stuff yet. As for enderium, ill have to look for a good method to get ender pearls I guess?
find one enderman and throw it in drygmy farm
Oh, is that what ars drygmy's are for?
Never really used ars much so i didnt know that was a thing
basically a mob farm
@hollow vine does resurrected give ability or regular modifier? someone posted a comment for it on the spreadsheet and now i'm questioning it
i could've sworn it was ability
I think I remember one thing having a wrong description and giving something else and also Emper updated a thing for next patch. But don't remember what names the stuff had.
resurrected, not edging technology
I think Emper also did something besides that one
resurrected uses an end crystal, and i swear it gives an ability slot
sigh, i'm just gonna have to test
didn't really wanna pull my game up for 5 seconds
ok it IS upgrade...
the only ability bonuses in base tcon are draconic and ability rebalanced
regular upgrade
not exactly a fave combo more just looking for advice on how to improve, im at expert world atm still early on tho looking for some higher damage out put with high attack speed idealy atm getting 30ish dps
first step on improving is hitting F3 + H to disable tooltips.....
second step is to replace invar handle with blizz enderium
oki
Where is the tinkers spreadsheet for MCE2? i cant find it here
#π-tips
Arigato goyzimazu
whats a decent Expert, Tinkers armor, weapon and Pickaxe?
tinker's armor you wanna go for chromatic steel plating with cobalt maille.
as for the weapon, you would want a manyullyn head part with blizz enderium handle or large plate depending on what weapon
chromatic steel works too, but you'd need a way to charge RF for that
do I also need RF for the Chromatic Steel armor ?
oh sorry my bad, since I read it as you mentioning it specifically for the weapon and not the armor
chromatic steel for armor is good too though
it's honestly one of the better materials despite being obtained early nether
pretty much unanimous that chromatic steel is the best maille outside of super late game stuff if you want to min-max with anti-matter
how do I get the 4 Materials to make Chromatic Steel, Jei dosent help me a lot tbh (might also just me being a dumbass)
i think the ingot forms are what you want to make
cant press on the actual item in Jei hence why
if I press on this I dont really see how to make it
are you looking at all JEI tabs when checking Recipes?
yea
it shows you how to make blitz lumium though
you are sure there isnt an induction smelter tab?
can you send a larger screenshot of jei if you cant find it?
a lot of others are more blind, don't worry
What are those weapons that can Extract Blazing Blood ?
anything you add the Melting ability to
you also need the tank upgrade to hold the blazing blood...
tank upgrade? (a bit more specific for my stupid ass xD please)
tank modifier
ah ok xD thanks
i'd recommend making a separate tool unless you have sponges laying around
yeah, a specially built melting weapon is advisable
you don't need to be extracting liquid soul or blood from everything
is it a bug that I cant pour Iron or Gold into the Scorched Basin, but I can pour it into a seared one on my Smeltery / Foundry
scorched basin wants a thing in it before you can pour into it at all times
"gold platform" if you just want a block
or you just continue using seared basins.
any trick to getting the chromatic steel to alloy? I made the Blitz lumium in the foundry and moved it over, so it's the correct one, and so I have a block of all 4 in the smeltry with pyrotheum but it's not alloying.
Seems like it's the key for so many expert tinkers things
You have to make a separate structure called an alloyer to make alloys
It requires the alloyer, scorched liquid tanks, and a fuel tank
At the minimum for chromatic steel(i presume thats what youre trying to make), you need 4 4 scorched liquid tanks
