I think both mods are very different so it is hard to compare. Tetra, to me, is more balanced than tinkers (at least more than tinkers 2, haven't touched the versions past 1.12). Tetra is way more simplistic and doesn't require as much setup as tinker's does. I also like the style of the mod more, tinker's looks outdated to me which is also due to the fact that so many modpacks have it and I've grown tired of it.

Thats fantastic but doesn't really answer my question as to whether Adam has people actively helping him with MCE2 development. The last I read, there was a whopping total of "3.5" people on the dev team....and that was from a year ago maybe? I have seen Adam state several times that MCE2 is and has been his passion project......so I wasn't sure if that situation could possibly limit the amount of help he was receiving.....either by choice or not.

I do not understand why people feel so entitled. We are not owed anything. Adam isn't being paid - he has a donation site, but has said plenty that it is only to support him and not MCE.
MCE2 has always been tentative and that is why they avoid ETAs. Continuing to poke and prod Adam will not get it done quicker. Go play another mod pack or game. There's plenty out there that'll satisfy your wants.

At this point, there should be a 3 strike and banned rule for asking ETA, it's in the FAQ, and it's common knowledge at this point it'll be done when it's done. I've been stalking this server for a while and what I've found is that while support goes much further than requests or demands, I think that people being frustrated with the length of the development is completely natural and should absolutely not go punished (unless its something spammy like a daily check-in. That's just annoying). At the same time, I think it is also completely understandable to be tired of the community's constant excitement, anticipation, and eagerness. That is Adam's problem to solve if he is passionate about the game and wants to maintain its development as public (which is his choice).
Whatever measures Adam and his team make to get the game (and themselves) out in one peace, should be supported with equal respect and anticipation.
Granted, while I don't think users unaware of the 'please don't ask about the date rule should be punished, it wouldn't hurt for something like a bot that auto-responds, correcting the behavior.
Regarding the faulty release teasers, it's completely reasonable in my eyes. If you're making a game with a lot of people anticipating it, you'd naturally want to push it out as fast as you can with as high quality as you can. If Adam said "It's coming out soon!" and took another year that means it clearly wasn't up to quality. To me that screams that he cares about the project, and doesn't want to see his art released prematurely.
Patience is required from both the community and the team to get something like this out, and It's best to try and not lose our patience with eachother, because we all want the same thing.

Absolutely nothing wrong with taking the time to both keep your mental sanity while also ensuring your product is essentially “baked” rather than undercooked. When the modpack does come out, I’m sure it’ll be a banger.
That being said, I do, however, feel that communication/updates could be more frequent. I’m not saying every week, but enough to know that there is work being done in the project. I feel like this would satiate the “mob” who are getting agitated and also reassure the community that work is, in fact, being done.
You don’t have to tell me that work is being done, because I know that, but I’m it feels like there’s a sect of the community that doesn’t understand that lack of updates does not equate to the project being abandoned. Still, that doesn’t mean they are incorrect in pointing out the lack of communication.

I don't want to act like the 🤓 here but (sorry to all the adam fanboys) adam should have seen the commotion coming with hinting towards something that normal users would be able to play.

I’ve been trying to keep up with the stuff going on with development but I don’t get on a lot and came after most stuff was finalized but had there been something that gave a description of how MCE2 was going to look?
Obviously I’m assuming similar to MCE but I know with the Jump to 1.16 mods will likely change. Has there been any thing about like just updating the older mods and adding more thematically relevant stuff or using mostly different mods but similar structure to MCE to give it a more unique feel? (Or something similar to this) I’ve been intrigued by the sneak peaks so far but definitely curious about how they will mesh and work together since it’s one of the reasons I loved MCE so much.

The timing of that rule being made being 8 months before the vote doesn't mean that for some odd reason the rule goes out the window so I don't really get your point.
And him making a poll or asking for an opinion shouldn't be taken as him teasing the community, if people are getting overly hyped but that is no fault of Adams. He should be allowed to ask for input without a bunch of people jumping on his case for something that was never promised. He is allowed to change his mind. There is no point if constantly debating this topic.

Life comes first. It's hard to care about the optics of running a community when I've got real life stuff consuming a lot of my time and energy. I understand the frustration but it's also important to recognise that all of these "it's bad management" / "communication is poor" critiques are unhelpful even if true because I am a human with human problems so I'm not going to be as efficient I could be. Especially when it comes to MCE2, which is a project I have dumped thousands of hours and an endless amount of money into , it hasn't made me anything.

It's like this. Ever had a favorite fan fiction, blog, or comic you've followed? If you have, then you've probably been on what's called an indefinite hiatus before at some point where the exact same scenario is occurring. It's someone's hobby. They do it for some reason other than money. The author/artist may or may not post updates. At the end of the day, you're hype for that thing you enjoy but ultimately nothing was gained or lost on your part if the author just isn't able to continue the series for X amount of time.

like, I've been waiting for Witchbrook since it was teased in 2016, a game that hasn't had a new teaser in years. You have Silksong which has been announced but will likely not be released for another few years. There's Mewgenics, a game by a very prominent game dev that was announced in 2012 that will maybe be released this year. And if you want something in the same realm as MCE, you have Hytale, made by the same people who run the Hypixel servers, that was announced in 2018 which has only had dev updates once or twice a year since 2020.
and the most important thing to realize is the fact that these games have actual funding and/or backing from publishers and will cost money to play.
I feel like the fact that this modpack is free is what makes people get even more toxic... why people gotta act so entitled to something they haven't and wont pay for...
