Could we ban saying "KYS" and "Kill yourself" even if it’s supposed to be a joke between friends?

Most servers either ban saying it too much or outright ban it even it’s a joke. My point and others being that while not directed at you or someone else, someone who’s depressed or is struggling mentally could see those messages and feel a lot of discomfort or sadness as they’re constantly reminded about suicide or self-harm. I know it might sound silly to some, but it’s a small change to help those who are struggling that I’d like to see.

A video game recently changed a noose to a shattered glass bottle to help with this issue, and people liked it. So I think it shouldn’t be too ambitious to just ban a common phrase that’s already seen as very negative to possibly lighten the mood here.

There are already rules surrounding the word; You can say it as long as you're absolutely sure the person who you are referring to will be fine with it.

That’s not what I mean, it’s the people who don’t have it directed at them is what I have issues with, of course if they’re fine with it, then it’s just banter. But it probably isn’t a good feeling when you’re depressed and you constantly see "kill yourself" everywhere, because it’s said here quite a lot.

It’s a common rule to not say it in other servers for this very reason, so that’s why I think it should be changed that the phrase is just straight up banned. Unless you really love that phrase, it does more good than harm if it was banned. I’d rather someone feel more comfortable than someone be mad that they can’t tell people to kill themselves even if it is just a joke.

What you said is still applying to the rules. If you indicate that you don't like the phrase and people still don't stop, the rules apply. And, people do actually tell if they're depressed.

I see. If that’s the case, then that’s understandable I guess. I personally don’t think that solves the entire problem as they’ll still see people saying that, and likely will again in the future. But I’m glad there’s at least some rule going against it.

We make sure everyone feels fine about it and take the necessary actions if they dont

I’m good. All I wish is that you at least take the complete ban of it into a little consideration, as I still believe it would be healthier that it was just gone than only regulated.
