I did a run of arcade mode with both Forsburn and Etalus in that order, both of which at level 0 and was not awarded the First Time Bonus exp for ether character.
Pictured is Etalus, who has a medal signifying he has completed arcade mode, but is still at level 1, which should be impossible because the bonus should award exactly 2 levels
Furthermore, when I completed Arcade with Fors, it showed me getting the levels, and it may or may not have given me the awards, I'm not sure, but Forsburn has since reverted to level 0
