Hi All,

Back in 2020 I bought myself a Creality CR20 Pro.
I have had a pretty rough time with it over the years struggling with bed levelling and associated issues.
Over time the frustration of using it meant I spent less and less time printing.

But I always miss it, so thinking about getting a new more modern printer and chucking the CR20.

Just looking at entry level printers a Ender 3 v3 SE or maybe the KE.
My question, would this be an upgrade over the CR20? Have printers evolved enough to avoid the bugbears of old?
Or am I just going to be frustrated?

Looking forward to your thoughts.
Regards
Abev

Creality still ships shitty printers. The most common issue withe the ke is that they were mentaly ill and used a loadcell for abl and auto z offset without accounting for the extra space needed correctly

#

So if you want to use the full area of the ke you have to file down the pillars the cell is on or lift all other 11 i think up

Whats your price range?

#

@woven coral , do you have a reccomendation per price range, obvs avoiding the troll printers..

i mean you can buy a creality printer if you are aware of what you get

I was happy with the Ender5 Pro except for the wavey bed

Popped a glass plate on it and took me a month to get stuff attached to it

@hazy osprey what do you want the printer to do - may sound like a stupid question, but do you want a no faff (or the least faff) that you can get - or do you want to upgrade and mess with it?

#

And what's your budget..

I ended up ordering the ender 3 V3 KE. I watched a bunch of reviews on it and they all said it was a good beginner printer...

My current CR20 Pro is a difficult piece of kit that I have struggled with for 5 yrs so I am sure this will be better, faster and easier.

Don't chuck it though, give it a clean and flog on Gumtree or the likes
