Good afternoon everyone, i hope you had a great day till now, i hope you can help with the problem and thanks in advance!

My anycubic kobra max is running on and off, since around a year and now it started being super loud while printing. It narrowed it down to the feeder/ feeder retracting filament and i tried lubing it and cleaning the feeder with acetone, but nothing helped.

Does anyone know what i could try next, because i cant print with it being that loud.

kind regards, jim

Increase idleram tension. If it gets worse lower it

thanks for your response, unfortunately after trying increasing and decreasing tension, the problem is still persists

should i just try getting a replacement gear? i seen somewhere that those wear down over time, maybe thats the problem?

ITS THE MOTOR ITSELF

Stupid suggetion

Im still a little sceptical tbh because i think in 8 years i broke 1 motor and that way by frying it with 220vac by accident

#

You sure there isnt a loose screw ratteling

if you unscrew the motor and let it run does it still klick`? maybe video it again

i really highly doubt the motor is actually the thing that might be fried if anything fried its the stepper driver.

#

on a stock board i can see that happeneing, not on a 3rd party board, well possibly but with a very very low chance.

I thought of cable maybe because that can make all of funny things

i gonna send a vid later (i also think its weird, especially since he is still working but REALLY loud, so he is not fried, just weird)

agile jetty
#

which firmware did you install on the board?

charred fulcrum
#

it is stock

#

did not change much about the printer except replacing a broken resistor a couple weeks ago

#

its the 2.8.6

agile jetty

sorry for some odd reason i thought you messed with the vref must have been another post.

charred fulcrum

Have reseted the epprom via pronterface? Oh and it would not be the first kobra i had to install firmware 3 to 6 times for it to actually work

yeah they are using some wierd combination of closed marlin firmware which is wierd since license wise they need to opensource their firmware. they are also using a chip on that board that has no marlin compatibility. they did something super wierd.
