i'm a little confuzzled with this stringing. it happens only on travels. not worried about the ghosting for now, as it also happens on slower speeds.

  • sovol sv06 plus
  • 0.6mm nozzle
  • PLA @ 215c. still happens as low as 190c.
  • 2mm retraction
  • happens on retraction speeds from 20mm/s to 100mm/s
  • z-hop of 0.75mm.

filament has been drying @ 50c for around 8+ hours.

printer is fitted with replacement 5015 blower fans for the extruder and nozzle, so i hope the air flow is sufficient. idk.

i have tried to increase the retraction distance, but anything higher than 2mm causes the printer to extrude late, skipping lines when starting and globbing on z-hops.

z-hop ramping did not have any effects either.

i would appreciate anybody helping me throw stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks

You tested the potential caused already like retraction speed/distance and temperature which is confusing that it did not solve the issue.

All I can think of is bad filament grip, gear teeth might be dirty or worn out which cause extruder to not retract the right amount of filament. Check these

Also try disabling z-hop first, then swap nozzle to a typical 0.4 and check the results again on retraction towers (u can find lots of these on the internet).

SOLVED: problem exists between keyboard and chair

#

the extruder jerk setting was too high, so despite the other profile settings, the extruder would not actually retract. this was solved by lowering the extruder jerk and touching nothing else

i feel dumb. oh well. thanks anyway vex
