Okay, #1 the printer is not inheritably bad.

karmic hedge
#

It just doesn’t want to stick in some places????

tranquil smelt
#

Calm down

#

Being a panicky person does not do any good.

#

Anyways

#

First off, did you calibrate the esteps?

karmic hedge
#

No idea what that is

tranquil smelt
#

I hated this question when I was first beginning but it makes sense to me now why to ask

karmic hedge
#

I have a normal ender 3

tranquil smelt
#

And I have a normal Ender 3 too haha, well kinda normal XD

tranquil smelt
#

Look

karmic hedge
#

Is this right the probe z offset?

tranquil smelt
#

Ugh

karmic hedge
tranquil smelt
#

Okay look, I hate it when new people of the hobby get an ABL. They think it is the auto solver of all things leveling when it is not.

karmic hedge
#

Welp

#

Idk

tranquil smelt
#

Do you know anything about firmware?

karmic hedge
#

No

tranquil smelt
#

Okay

#

Well

#

Fuck

#

I'll work with it

#

You need to learn the fundamentals of bed leveling(tramming but fuck them)

#

So

#

An ABL is a good upgrade to have

karmic hedge
#

I ordered better bed springs too but they didn’t come

#

Prolly won’t do anything

tranquil smelt
#

The ABL helps with the warpness of beds sometimes. You can only level the bed so well by hand so the ABL helps reduce that.

karmic hedge
#

Ye

tranquil smelt
#

Here, watch this video

karmic hedge
#

I’ve watching probably all the vids

tranquil smelt
#

Then what are you not understanding?

#

Genuine question, no sarcasm

karmic hedge
#

Did the vid

tranquil smelt
#

And?

karmic hedge
#

Ima try a print

tranquil smelt
#

Let me know how it goes

karmic hedge
#

Alr

#

So I can adjust it

#

I stopped the print after it was too low and auto homed it how to I get it down ?

#

Nvm

#

The axis was moved up

#

@tranquil smelt

#

🤷‍♂️

tranquil smelt
#

The nozzle needs closer to the bed

tranquil smelt
karmic hedge
#

It looks like it’s so close it leaves an outline

karmic hedge
south elm
#

Well i can tell you at least one error from that video

karmic hedge
#

I can’t get it closer

south elm
#

You want 4 clamps ... one in each corner

#

And if you are still too far away you tightend the bed too much

karmic hedge
karmic hedge
#

How tight should it be

south elm
#

Well it makes your bed wobbly during probing. Then there is usally a limit of minus 5 mm for z offset

karmic hedge
#

My z offset is like -2

south elm
#

About how tight well enough doesnt get loose

karmic hedge
south elm
#

Then either you under extrude or you have .44 and more as wirst layerlinr width

south elm
karmic hedge
#

Huh

#

Tighten it all the way??

#

Idk

south elm
#

Englisch is my second language typos when tired drunk and sick might happen

#

I told you how tight ... enough that the screws are not loose

karmic hedge
#

Ok

#

It has to be my layer thickness

#

I’ve tried everything

#

I’ve spent more time messing with this thing leveling than I have printed

south elm
#

Width

#

No thickness

karmic hedge
#

Mb

#

Width*

south elm
#

Thicc and sick

karmic hedge
#

Lmao

south elm
#

Check the first layer width in your slicer 🙂

karmic hedge
#

Lemme fire up the ol pc

#

Is it just me that I have a hard time sometimes getting the sd card in Bec it’s so small and the port is so close to the table

south elm
#

It looks at least from that image that you at least dont have a gap and the card vanishes into the housing

karmic hedge
#

There’s the slicer

south elm
#

Yeah thats beginner settings

#

Click on the 3 stripes and select all

karmic hedge
#

O

#

I clicked all

#

If I change a setting do I have to re slice my prints

south elm
#

Remove the search term

#

And ofcourse ... how should a gcode on a different sdcard.magicaly know its changed

karmic hedge
#

Wasn’t sure

#

I have been doing that anyway

#

Just wanted to confirm

karmic hedge
south elm
#

And now show me what you got

karmic hedge
#

That

#

What should I change

south elm
#

Okay increase initaly layerwidth to 105 % and see if it gets better 🙂

karmic hedge
#

I did 110 nothing seems to work I hate this printer bro

#

I’m just gonna restart for the 20th time

#

Manual level and do offset

#

Doesn’t seem like the layers are any wider

#

Nothing wants to stick anymore

karmic hedge
#

It looks thinner now

#

Instead of thicker

#

This printer has gotta be fucked

#

@south elm

#

Aren’t they supposed to be touching

#

And supposed to be totally flat

#

Set the width more?

#

120%?

south elm
#

Thats the most if thats not working i have no idea

karmic hedge
#

110 is the most?

south elm
#

Your 120 suggested

tranquil smelt
#

Have you tried glue stick or blue tape?

#

idk why you guys are worrying about line width, this is a bed leveling issue it looks like

south elm
tranquil smelt
#

Yeah but increasing the width wouldn't help that though if the nozzle isn't close enough

#

Is the bed as close as it can get or?

#

Is the Z-Endstop still on the side of the printer?

tranquil smelt
#

It is a few tenths of a mm off from being good it looks like

south elm
#

And would not be the first time that someone accidentaly set the wrong width

tranquil smelt
#

Not wrong but if the line width is at 100% and the layer lines look like that, it seems to be just a little too far from the bed

south elm
#

Anyway told too relevel too. Have fun im back to sleep
