Quick questions are okay in #3dprinting but with a question like this, it usually involves asking several questions which would clog the chat
Anyways, what material and support settings are you currently using?
touching buildplate only, pla
these are advanced settings
Oh I see now
One moment
The settings are not as customizable with Cura however if I am reading this right then I will ask what options do you have for the top interface layers?
i am confused
3 (heavy)
Which slicer is this too?
prusaslicer
Is it Prusa?
Alright
Also, can you describe more about the issues of the support? Like struggling to get off the print or the build plate or?
off the print
Do you have a print that you can print quickly that will use support?
no but i can find one
Alright
I want to perform some tests
Can probably do a 20x20x20 cube and just lift it off the build plate a little
We want an accurate test though so whatever you think you can use that will be accurate
I use Cura so I am not sure
do you have any reccomendations? for a print
Try this
Best part of calibrating your machine: TESTING!
I am currently doing it with my new Solvo 06. Printing a cube at 180mm/s since 120mm/s worked well for a benchy
this is what its generating
Set:
Top Interface Layers to Light
Bottom Interface Layers to Heavy
Your top interface layers now is set to heavy which makes it denser and I assume that makes it harder to take off.
We need to test each one at a time so we know what to keep and change.
It is a tedious process but will make your life easier in the long run
huh
Don't
We are running tests to get the normal support you use dialed in. If you switch to tree then it ruins the whole test
Your first print with supports was the baseline
Very well
okay
those support settings worked out great
and not to mention the tree supports just made everything so much easier to remove
Tree supports are great for most things but not for everything
yeah ill test normal supports tomorrow
In this 3D Printing 101 I'll show you how to generate the strongest, most reliable support structures around! But be warned! These supports are only for models that need it... because they're incredibly tough.
