I recently installed direct drive to my Ender 3 V2, but I heard that I should change my retraction settings now.
My current settings are 7.5mm

Retraction settings aren't something we can give a solid, universal answer for. Retraction settings which work well on one printer may not work as well on another. For example, my direct drive ender 3 clone has a retraction distance of 0.2mm, this probably won't work out so well on your setup.
You should try printing a retraction tower. This should help you identify which retraction distances and speeds work well for your setup. A helpful guide on retraction tuning can be found here: https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#retraction
