Story:

Recently bought a Flashforge Finder Gen 1 for basically lunch money (about two spool's worth of PLA). I'm super new to 3D printing, but from general knowledge about the topic (being a geek) managed to print some stuff until now (got 700 hours on the printer already). As you know, the print area is super small (140x140x140), but I saw tahat a bunch of people modded it, as the frame and the nozzle of the printer allow a larger printer bed (I think 200x156x140).

My question to you all would be:

Could I just drop in a pane of glass below that limit, secure it to the current bed thats on the machine, and calibrate manually the Z height of the machine in the settings of the printer?

Would that somehow influence my prints that are sliced in the unmodded Flashprint slicer? Like I imagine the G-code is written with the basic settings of the printer, but Im not sure when you upload the file on the printer, would it take into consideration the manually set Z height?

Cheers guys.

you should be able to print previously sliced gcode without issue unless you are putting gcode offsets in your gcode for the calibration of the printer or something, which would be a super unorganized workflow.
