What printer?
Everyting except the ender 3 s1 pro has a ptfe lined hotend thats not save for printing petg. Highly toxic fumes for pets

Yeah that one has a ptfe lined hotend
So not safe for petg
You can fix that buy replacing the heatbreak with an allmetal heatbreak though. Wich are like 5 to 12 bucks
The hotend is usaly not even tightend to petg temps so you get a gap inside that fills up with material causing your issue
