#Any ideas on what caused these lines to appear?

The photo quality isn't great as my phone would not focus on the print very well, but the lines I am referring to are the small bumpy off colored lines. They appear across the entire print, but most prominently at the top. (For reference, the base of this print is the smaller bottom and the larger/thicker half is actually the top. Supports were not used as they aren't required for this print.)

The printer used was a Sovol SV03, PLA filament, and 200 C nozzle 80 C plate (assuming that is all relevant)

#

my only guesses as to what caused it are either age of the filament (multiple years old and not in particularly amazing storage conditions), contaminants in the nozzle from something like a scuffed filament change (although not sure how likely that really is considering how prominent it was in the later hours of the print), or the filament somehow being burned?

It's not the end of the world if it can't be figured out, as I can lightly sand it and I planned on painting it anyways, but considering this took 1 day and 5 hours to print and not everything I do will have that leniency in it I would like to solve the issue if possible.

looks like z binding check if the z leadscrew is running smoothly and is lubed clean and correctly mounted

#

also what layerheight did you use

Layer height was 0.1mm, which honestly is probably "overkill" for what this is

#

you may be right about the Z leadscrew though, as while I can't remember properly I do think I heard noises coming from it? I wish I was more active in seeing what happened with this print, but I started it before heading off to a family print and hoped for the best while I was gone.

#

Incredibly happy with this as it is the first time this specific print has worked out of the total 7 times I have tried

#

all of them failing at past the 15 hour mark, because of course they would

.1 could be overkill yes

so just throw some WD40 on the leadscrew and mess around with settings?

Or try .12mm layerheight

I'll definitely do that, if not for just decreasing print time

yeah that small layer height and slight over extrusion can cause those bumps, also wet filament,

all true but since it looks so regular to me id say z binding
