This side of the print comes out looking really gnarly while the other side comes out fantastic and smooth

WHAT ARE PRINTER

#

without any further information about the printer or what's going on or anything

all we can do is ponder our orbs

have to realize that this ain't a magic "push button receive plastic object" box...

it's a proper little desktop CNC machine, very similar in many ways to the big CNC metal mills in machine shops

only instead of a spinny cutter thing, it has a hot glue gun.

#

so you need to start by making sure the frame is straight, make sure the heaters on the bed and hotend know how much power to apply to get up to temperature properly, make sure that it's dispensing EXACTLY as much plastic as is requested, make sure that we're actually asking for the correct amount of plastic...

these are the base tuning steps that gotta gotta gotta get done

Drivers maybe?

noble beacon
#

tried updating my drivers for the port, said none were needed

#

I found this mini usb cable so it is possible this is one of those cables that don’t have data lines, is there an easier way to tell?

No, windows drivers

noble beacon
#

just updating windows? @weary moth

sturdy topaz
#

no, there are serial port drivers you need for windows to properly recognize the serial port

#

you check on the printer manufacturer's support pages first
