Alright i dont want to use Google or ChatGPT because honestly i would prefer someone with knowledge to kinda maybe throw me a bone.
Let's say I swap my 14900k for another (new) 14900k. One of the steps from MSI motherboards states the following:
"confirm the new CPU is detected and set up your XMP/EXPO profile for RAM."
As a layman hardware guy..why is this stressed as so important? I turned XMP off (gray in BIOS) and as far as I can tell my ram is pretty much exactly the same as it was before? I get that XMP essentially is for high load efficiency but is having it on or off inherently bad? Is a 14900k "looking" for XMP to be off or on during its initial boot or something? I feel real dumb asking this
