#CPU OC

Use Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Untility)
H means it's a laptop, there is a chance it's OC capabilities are locked in bios
Havent seen anything in there
Besides - the cpu itself has locked multiplier so you can't really overclock it
what do you guys think is a healthy overclock for this?
The 11800H isn't fully locked, you can still undervolt
Undervolt at most
All processors are different, even ones with the same SKUs
Silicon lottery
Try a .5v undervolt, test it, and if needed, adjust
The only one I won at
Search for some kind of Undervolt protection in bios if you can't undervolt it rn via apps like XTU(On windows 11 you also need to turn off some windows settings)
No, it can improve it
Yes

Depends, this is a laptop i7 so it most likely overheats and throttles, lower voltage = lower power = lower temps = no throttle so actually faster
- longer battery life and overall the amount of time ur laptop will live too
I clean fans regularly so throtteling is only an issue when going 100% power in a benchmark
but ill try it
Usually laptops have combined heatsink for both gpu and cpu so when you load both by some games it may also start to throttle but tbf even putting it at high temps alone is a bit of a problem as components around may start to degrade quicker
While gaming my gpu hits around 70°-76°C
Part in question atm - cpu
60 soemthing
Oh, well... That's actually nice temps for laptop
Probably a 1650, or a decent cooling solution for a laptop (unheard of)
I had laptop with 9300h and 1650, gpu - 50-60 degrees under whatever the hell you gonna load it
And cpu
Thankfully had 95 degree limit unlike my previous i7 3770k(or smthing like that) laptop
Had a macbook pro that would run at 99° in a YT video and the program wouldnt go above 99°
If it's MacBook air then it's obvious
Oh wait, pro
Oh, an old one ig
Not with M cpu
Whatever you say - M cpu are better in everything but lack of support for now
They're much more power effecient tho
ik
You can go early adopter and go laptop with some Qualcomm in it
i will get a free mac for studying and job later on though, if i stick to what i do rn
As much as I love Qualcomm I'm probably not buying a ARM laptop until I see some insane performance
(and not a mac)
I already went through the entire bios before
there is nothing cpu related
But at this point its not worth it, if I cant overclock it wont make much diff anyway
There may be "secret" combination of keys to unlock more settings in bios
😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳
do you have a GE76 raider?
gp66 leopard
So i lowered timings, understood that I have shitty modules, made everything back xd
I had gl75 9ck 011-ru
Or smthing like that
I am on the same post rn :P
why do I have to enter a damn cheat code to enter a "secret" bios, just put everything in the real one
💀
If you give a 12 year old kid overclocking capabilities, something's breaking
a 12yo is not gonna open a bios
You never know
They vary between laptops, try different combos
me pressing every key on my kb
Try Left Alt, Right Ctrl, Right Shift, and F2
You'd probably have to update your BIOS then
yes
