If you can't clear CMOS then you have to replace the BIOS memory chip
My motherboard doesn't have a cmos battery
Ah, okay
There's no way to reset it, you can guess or replace the BIOS chip
Is replacing said bios chip a pain in the ass?
Your machine does have a cmos battery
wait it does?
yup
where would that be?
sorry for response time i for some reason dont get notis on this thread
its on a pair of fly-leads wrapped in black plastic
Yes, you need a hot air gun with a LOT of patience, as well as steady hands
It can't be a hairdryer, because that doesn't get hot enough to melt solder
Here's the CMOS battery. It's taped down
This is the BIOS chip
Ohhhhhhhh
Wait so I can just take out the cmos battery?
And let it rest for a bit I'm guessing?
Unplug it with the laptop's battery, then replug everything and pray
If that doesn't work you're gonna have to replace the BIOS chip
I just got back from class but I'm doing that right now
This was quite literally the manual I found
Did it work?
you can still replace the BIOS chip, if you can't solder then see if you can get your local electronic repair store to fix it
I think I found a weird workaround to get windows back onto the laptop
It seems to be working
