#Updating BIOS

Hey @reef cape Typically, BIOS updates are cumulative, meaning they have the previous updates. However, I would double-check the notes/descriptions for each version. Sometimes, you many need to update a specific version before you can update to another.
In your case, I would update to Version 7C35v1H, then install your R7 5800X3D.
If your system POST with 5800X3D, then update to the latest BIOS version.
Hey @pine mist , thank you for the quick response. I went ahead with the latest version and had some issues getting past the BIOS after installing the new CPU. I had to switch from UEFI to CSM in the windows OS configuration in order to get the computer to properly load 😦
UEFI is preferred and newer but CSM will help with compatibility on older hardware and OS. Read up on GPT vs MBR partitioning system used by your boot drive. GPT is newer, supports more partitions, provides improved data security (secure boot), and provides faster boot speed.
