Hey. There is a setting in windows that normally detects devices that are plugged in/installed and will look for a driver that works with that device. It is possible that your windows settings does not have that activated, so windows did not automatically installed an Nvidia driver.
Questions:
- Did you run DDU in safe mode?
- Did you restart your system after the DDU finished?
- Did you manually install the latest driver for your GPU?
all yes except the last part because windows said that my graphics card cant be located and didnt let me install the drivers
What steps did you do exactly in order to install the driver?
- Manually select your driver from Nvidia’s list of GPUs.
- Download GeForce Experience to let it try to automatically find the latest driver for you.
geforce experience didnt detect my gpu so i tried from nvidias list and said that my laptop wasn’t compatible
Since I don’t know the exact model of your laptop you will have to try:
Welcome to the MSI USA website. MSI designs and creates Mainboard, AIO, Graphics card, Notebook, Netbook, Tablet PC, Consumer electronics, Communication, Barebone, Server, industrial computing, Multimedia, Clean Machine and Car Infotainment.
I got to the part about finding the product model but I don’t know if it is 12th or 13th Gen and then there is a drop down with a dozen or so specific model numbers you would need to pick from.
@silent lily I would try installing the NVIDIA Graphics driver from the support/download page of your specific laptop.
Even if the NVIDIA graphics driver is outdated, it most likely has been tested and confirmed to be compatible for your specific laptop.
Graphics drivers that you get directly from NVIDIA's website or GeForce Experience are typically ***generic ***drivers.
Those drivers may be more recent or newer than the driver that you get from the support page of your laptop; however, they may not work well for your specific laptop.
its a Msi Katana GF66 11UE
i tried that too many times
whenever id start downloading the driver it would just say that is isnt compatible with my laptop
Have you tried resetting BIOS to default settings?
Load optimized defaults?
The problem is there are multiple 11UE models.
Here is the direct link to where you can pick your specific one:
yeah
Were you able to find your specific laptop model?
Have you considered a factory reset? Do some research before doing that. https://us.msi.com/support/technical_details/DT_OS_Recovery_SOP

If you can get to this page on the laptop then it might be able to give you the specific model.
I guess not and you can delete that photo. I copied mine as an example from the web. Isn’t the exact model somewhere on the receipt or stored on the site that you bought it from?

this is the laptop model i have
Which of course isn’t one of the drop down options…
Katana GF66 11UE-856
sorry for that other one
That is different than what you just posted in the picture above.
Alright, well if the one ending in 856 is your laptop model, then go to that site I posted before, find your model, and try downloading the driver for NVIDIA graphics.
Did you select windows 11 or 10 when you went to pick a driver?
10
Do you already have NVIDIA/GeForce Experience downloaded?
No
Try downloading just that and have it auto detect the driver that you will need.
Try *uninstalling *NVIDIA graphics drive via Windows Apps > restart your laptop > then try installing the driver from your laptop's support page.
If that doesn't work, then try DDU again https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/uninstall-nvidia-amd-intel-gpu-drivers
Restart laptop > then try installing the driver from your laptop's support page.
If that doesn't work, then try installing graphics driver via MSI Center.
- Uninstalling via Windows App, then reinstall.
- Uninstalling via DDU, then reinstall.
- Checking for other updates and NVIDIA Graphics driver via MSI Center.
Do you recall what you were doing when GPU just stopped working?
Have you checked in BIOS to see if GPU is detected?
Could be a dead GPU...
You could try a Factory reset if recovery sector on boot drive is there.

Backup your important data to an external storage drive... another internal drive if you have one installed and/or cloud storage.
Games, apps, and programs can always be reinstalled so no need to back them up. However, I would take notes of game settings, app and program settings, and other custom configs before doing factory reset.
