#if I get 16 gb of memory on 1 channel will it work good

It will most likely work
but its wise to buy memory in kits
as they are matched together, and you will have dual channel too
So if you are looking to get 32gb of memory in the future
i would advise you buy a 32gb kit
but if that doesnt matter
then you should be ok with a single stick
I would advise not running mismatched memory moduals
as you could run into stability issues
So just 1 is better
for stability, yes
Alright, thanks I order it I will report any bugs
again, you should be able to run a single channel fine
?
If I get 2 8gb of ram sticks will I have 16 gb of ram
Yes, and in the proper slots, they will run in dual channel, so you will get the bandwidth improvements as a result
Alright Ima instead just get another 8gb of ram
again
issues with that
you will end up with 2 mis-matched ram modules
which could result in stability issues
with dual channel kits of memory
the dimms are matched to each other
they get tested as a pair
Search online for your motherboard. Check the support page of your motherboard for memory list/QVL.
QVL list is more of a suggestion than a defacto list
yep
I have a laptop
only so many memory modules can be verified
are you getting a different 8gb or the same model you already have
but just to be on safe side... and stability
Im not sure I am about to order but am not sure what to order
just get the same one you already have
and where are you?
or just get 2x8gb and sell the one you have
39 what?
USD
what laptop do you have?
MSI gf63
Also I bought the new ssd and it came and it works well now
?
thats what your laptop supports
Yea
G.Skill Ripjaws F4-3200C22D-16GRS Component for: Notebook, Internal memory: 16 GB, Memory layout (modules x size): 2 x 8 GB, Internal memory type: DDR4, Memory clock speed: 3200 MHz, CAS latency: 22. The G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMM kit is the ideal system upgrade and offers faster data transfer ...
Alright,
So I will have 8gb for games and such
16*
Cause I kinda need to muli task
Alright will order hopefully it works
another question.. How much gb should I save so my ssd keeps runnign smooth
never let it fill up
Should I save about 50
if you want
we have high-speed internet now
if you are hoarding more than 1tb of data that you dont use often
get a nas
Not a hard rule, but usually leave about 20% unused SSD space
Ok
Don't fill it up. If you have a secondary drive, you can use that for storing important documents and files
^
Alright
Good luck!
yeah usually memory manufacturers... even Newegg and I think Amazon (depending on the vendor store) will have memory finders so that you buy memory that is compatible with your system
crucial does i know
but most name brand memory should work ok, as long as you stay within the specs
Kingston does
Yeah, kingston does too
wouldnt trust it IMO
yeah i would go directly to the name brand ram makers websites
just to see what they have to offer/ research
Just wondering. Does the support page for your laptop list any compatible memory modules?
not with laptops
yep usually not. thought it was worth checking out 😄
already did XD
