You're supposed to able to head-butt the trashcans and get the shinies, but the super launch is unexpected. Can you repeat this glitch (meaning the devs can reproduce it and presumably patch it)?
I see what's happening. It was the Pick Up action that caused the super launch. That happened to me once before after a dumpster dive.
