I wasn't trying to arrive to a predetermined result
I was just rating each change and seeing how the result was
the question then is @native quail what do you think is the most that needs changes to get to the result you're expecting to see?
what things mattered more to you on the negative side than to me, and what things matter less to you on the positive side than me
i frankly don't give a rats' ass about the champ powers getting added in
so i'd skip rating that entire section
and start calculating from rarity changes
so the reason why i mentioned them is because I think that adding more powers to the pool IS a rarity change
I do think maybe I wasn't harsh enough on illaoi's power being in the epic pool

I'm not trying to defend this patch. Generally. But I'm definitely willing to keep an open mind about what's happening
for all I know, the problem with illaoi's 3 star might just be that it's on illaoi, rather than the power itself being bad
i expected a net negative
i guess it's because i separated the removed shit
instead of just giving it a flat number overall
if i compress removed shit into 10/10
i'd come up with net negative
I think that you should pick something that is a -10
not to make in intentionally negative
but to set your benchmark of "this is the worst change of the patch"
What's with the Lux power hate?
it's the 1* version not the 3*
so it's a nerf.
hextech observ refunds the FULL mana cost
not just your spell mana
but also takes up a landmark space
it was not an epic rarity
and it's not a full replacce

that change is kinda in the same territory of why i rated endless to epic as a -10
Usually the Observatory just got in my way after like turn 3
if you offered me lux 1 i wouldn't even take it

What's wrong with Illaoi's 3* power?
illaoi power only benefits when you somehow have tentacle on the field already
waiting 2 turns for a power to be useful, i might as well pick something else
Best case it's someone who is doing multi attack shenanigans to make a big unit with no keywords
I think best case is vayne who can slap keyword eqs on it

i don't play vayne much
but OH GEE WHIZ ILLAOI power isn't what screams to me when i play her

It can attack to buff itself but does nothing on first token

Okay so my assessment was off, they didn't include every power that got added to the normal rotation
Idk how i'm gonna adjust it but I think i'm gonna have to comb the wiki and have them help me figure out what powers are in the set
I'd be interested in hearing other people's post-patch thoughts as well
I don't understand why they felt the need to nerf things in poc. It's not a pvp mode after all
I really really like how wild fragments don't count towards upgradable anymore. Those are my only thoughts on this patch. The rest I'm pretty neutral on
I think you might not be understanding that change
All that changed is that it doesn't flash every champ that you could upgrade only if you use wild fragments on it.
The functionality hasn't changed, it just doesn't inform you constantly. If you had more than 80 wild shards, there is a distinct chance that 80% of the champion roster would have been flashing at you
No change for me. My limiting factor is duck feet. All champs sit on a healthy amount of personal shards
So everything still lights up like Christmas
For me the amount of things glowing decreased by 60-70%
Yeah that's what I meant. Wild fragments don't count towards the upgradable filter (anymore)
Okay, apologies, I would figure that most people would be okay with that change. I do think they should let you enable or disable that feature potentially.

This is my new listing. I bolded my changed based on my current thoughts, and I put a + next to whether the change was upwards, and a - next to changes that the change was downwards

i think fated is good think to have in common
heimer is also goated
it is summon not play so works with totem really good
I think they delute the pool. additionally, there are not many champs who want fated who wouldn't rather want other common powers. you can say a champ like leblanc wants fated, but she doesn't, she wants crush. this could be said by a decent amount of champs
the only champ i could think of that would seriously want heimer's power is jack, because of the implications of always having spell mana to coin and doing damage every summon is relatively strong
but beyond that, i've seen it several times in my adventures since the patch started, and i haven't taken it once
common powers dont need to be enabler
i think they are good enough to win penalty adventure
roll until you get them win forfeit

i would love to get fated on ornn for example
to skip pity powers
i remain unconvinced that those 2 actually do that. fated is worse than rush them down to me
heimer power has potential to do that but i would argue that there aren't that many champs that have a board swarm + spell tricking potential that can actually make it work
heim is so good tho
like i said it is summon so dropping shaman for voli for example gives you 2 spell mana
i know what it does
i just don't think there are enough champs who can properly take advantage of that power
no point in having more resources ify ou have nothing to spend it on
biggledust is not a very comparable power to heimer's power. specific champs can use it, and others literally cannot use it, so it's comparable to rush them down
it's way more comparable to luxo common power, which it got a decently better rating than. i still don't really think the game needs it right now

Going through, the current assessment is that this review is going to look a LOT better than last one did, I think last patch is taking a massive brunt of bad pr from this one by shipping so many other adjustments

After I added up the numbers, the sum of them was 126, and there were 38 items. This brings our average score for this patch to a 3.3 which is substantially better than last patch.
Enfeebling strike and evolution changes feel the worst. Picking enfeebling strike was one of the first "tricks" you can learn as a newbie, and one of the best ways to build new champs. Power doesn't have to be distributed 1:1 with rarity, it's good to have at least one common power that's actually good.
Evolution is strong, but its strength is deck dependent and there were stronger epics.
agree, I really hope they put evo back at epic. I still think domination was more than fine at rare (its a good power dont get me wrong but theres MUCH stronger rares and to me domination fits in just fine at rare level power). Inheritance at epic is comical, I didn't pick it 95% of the time at rare unless im playing very specific champs.
i've won 1 run TOTAL off of having inheritance
i personally think the epic pool and leg pool are a bit too diluted
leg pool should kinda be "gamewinning" powers and epic should be "powers that are the last pieces to the puzzle of your reasonably achievable gameplan"
perf manaflow, dupe, power overwhelming are good legendary powers now
evo is just not a gamewinning power for half the champs in the game
I'm choosing to not do another for this patch, there's not enough in it for me to do a comprehensive list and not much existing controversy
