Hello Tankers, this post is about the Black friday chests. I am kinda split on this topic because of the t249 being in them on not being Sold on itself. It is rather good so not everybody will buy it that hasn't got it so MM will not be filled with them again. But otherwise it is a hugh pay wall again. I dot get why there are not only 2 premiums that are declared as epic drops which should be the t249 and the M47 Patton. There are 10 epic drops which mean if you do not have all of them which i guess not many people have you will very unlikely get the tank you want or you have to spend an insane amount of money. At least all the tier 8s should not be epic imo. Another thing is the drop rate of tanks, 7,23 percent is not really that good, as well as there is no info about how likely it is to get a epic or non epic drop of this tank drop. As you have no anti dup on the no epic ones and I would think a higher chance on the normal not guaranteed drop to get a non epic this will most likely mean you will get and epic tank most of the time only at the fix 50 chests safe drop. So in worst case you need 50 fest to get one epic safe drop and then you have to be lucky to get the one out of the 10 tanks there are. This it just ridiculous and should not be part of the game. Making money is of course something WG has to do but not like this. Chest are just so bad nowadays and hiding "OP" tanks behind this gamble chests is just moraly not OK in my mind.

It's a good thing the T249 is RNG locked- as it's still busted and we don't want anyone to have it

The best solution would be not to sell broken tanks until they are fixed and to not lock anything behind chests

You are right, but this will just make people spend more money then they should or even waste it because they do not get "lucky". In my mind this is just not acceptable no matter what tank is in these chest and if it is OP or not. It is just sadly a greedy and unmoraly behavior from wargaming

7.23% drop rate means a tank ~every 14 opens, 14 opens = 7000 gold, average tank value in the tank drops = 13k. Even the average price of the non-epic = 8k. So tank wise you can go as far as to literally assume the drop rate of the epic's is 0 and still, on average, get more tank than you paid ignoring the 13 other drops that had something in. So maybe that puts the drop rate into context 🤷‍♂️.

Also, 8 of the 10 epics can be direct purchased FWIW and are all tanks that have been sold repeatedly at large discounts.

In terms of other aspects to do with anti-dupe and what not, we can't (tech wise) do multiple "levels" of anti-dupe or guarantee. So if we included the "non-epic" ones in it, someone could open 50 chests and it then give them 6500 gold T92. And if we only put the 2 tier 10s, then people who want a selection of the tanks can get duplicates of tanks they don't want rather than tanks they do - something people complained about for years.

In terms of anything else, players vote with their wallets and time. And most of the things people say we should do people don't vote for 🤷‍♂️

I think that the main tanks people want of these chest will be the M47 and the T249, especially that one because you can not get it elsewhere

M47 can be bought for 12.5k from the store, T249 was on sale last year for i think same price? i'd have to check

And for newer players that will not have many of the other epic drops this will get very expensive very easy especially without knowing how hard it is to get an epic drops, because 50 chest is 90 euros for the safe drop

Yes it can be bought. That is right, the t249 can not be bought at the moment, so that is the only way to get it. And I think you know as well that it is a "toxic" tank that will be interesting for quite many people that maybe did not buy it last year. So in my mind that is kinda baiting people to buy these chest whilst having a really bad chance to actually get the t249 out of the chest for cheap

It depends how you look at it, if someone tells me they want to hunt just the one tank i'd advise them against choosing that method. If they want a bunch of stuff, great value for money and a load of tanks then the chest's are a fantastic option.

If they want to "complete the collection" from the chest, i'd advise them to check the tank bundles and buy the mega, the rookie duo, the back in class 2023 and GAU on it's own to get 8 of the 10 epics and then get the final 2 from the chests - which also means you 100% get the new skin for extra earns from the M47. All while getting an extra few tanks from outside the epic/are also in the bundle.

Think a lot more people than are often credited/expected fall into the first category than people realise.

I mean if you for example have none of the tank from the chests and you have bad luck to only get an epic from the save drops you will in the worst case Scenario spend 900 euros to get the t249 for sure

So the tank drop rate is 7,3 percent ish, what is the drop rate for rare or epic tanks? Is it all the same for ervy tank? Or are rare tanks more likely to drop?

75k gold for the bundles i mentioned + another 50k for the guarantee x2 from chests, although you can save 12.5k buying the M47, but means you lose the guarantee for the skin

^Not saying that is suddenly cheap, i'm just laying out the math/numbers. Make of it what you will 😄

I understand. The only issue i have with this is that if you really want the t249 and you do not have a lot of tanks of the list, it will most likely get very expensive or you will just not get it most likely if you do not want to soend that much, that on its own would not be an issue if the t249 would not be an "OP" tank which is quite toxic and will be wanted more by many players then other tank would probably be wanted, do you understand my point?

yeah that math i laid out is "cheapest" way to get the 2 tier 10 tanks in the chest. Not saying it's cheap or expensive, but that's the "cheapest" max spend that can be achieved. May be some ways to take it down a bit more, but it's not buying 500 chests 😅 - all i was explaining.

But what i also was saying before is the majority of people who buy chests don't tend to chase 1 tank, and the ways suggested to make it work for those who chase the 1 tank would make the experience worse for those who aren't chasing the 1 tank. So there is an aspect of rock and a hard place.

But yes i understand your point, and i'm honestly not really looking to change your mind. I have context and perhaps even perspectives you won't, so i will share what i can and if you hate it more as a result that's fine, and if you hate it a bit less as a result that is also fine 😄 My intent is a decision/thought becomes more informed where possible 🙂

I understand that, but then why don't give the best for all people which would be selling every tank that is inside the chest on its own? I mean i don't see a problem with that? T249 is the only tank for these sales that is not sold on is own or in a bundle, it is only available in loot boxes, why though? I mean that would not worsen the experience for players not chasing one tank or does it?

And this is not the first time we have these pay wall issue, the worst one was the winter chests last year and the warhammer event where you could only buy the mega bundle or the chest with horrible drop rates

One question @muted rover the tanks stats within the black friday bundle of the M47 Patton said 25 percent silver bonus on the website, is that really the case or is this only achieved through the chests getting the skin?

the WH chest was a commander chest, and was like the 4th? time the stuff was sold. And it was then sold a few months later in the store.

it's both, the tank has a bonus and the skin does too. They stack if you have both

If i was being pedantic i'd point out that WGC = Wargaming Centre the PC launcher, and that WGCB = the studio formally known as Day 1 Studios who make WoT:MA, and then even more so i'd point out i'm attached to the Prague office so i'm still not that either.

But to answer your leading and clearly not expecting anything but a "ha gotcha" type answer with as little a gotcha ammo as i can (a kinda asinine thing to do as no matter what i say you've already decided your opinion on it lol) - we always sell things again. And if it's event/thematic based then it will be sold again during that event/period, the method may change and if the event goes on long enough we may have to start leaving some stuff out but as a rule stuff gets resold during the time that it makes sense to sell it.

Saying any question with knowing how toxic it is as a core part of the question is anything but somewhat loaded is a bit disingenuous 😅

In terms of direction and tanks viewed as toxic, AAt60, AVRE, Taran, V/IV, Sexton's, etc etc all nerfed/changed in recent patches and it has openly been done due to players perception and not directly due to their balance. So clear intent to do what is best for the games long term health. But that sort of gets rather off topic so let's try keep this chat to the chest 🙂

The T249 is still toxic period.
After the nerf I tested battles against it as did your cc's. We played/played against it and we all think it was not fixed in any meaningful way.
This was reported in all the feed back threads at that time.
It's now avalable again bringing back another wave of toxicity to the game seamingly for profit only.
In regard to your push back calling me disingenuous, twisting of my lines and none answers to my original question of why, I ask that you just report my feed back up the line to the people above your pay grade.

Its called gambling, its that simple. Someone (not me) roughly calculated So, how many Loot boxes on total it's going to take you roughly to be able to get this skin:
158.7 loot boxes you need to open if you are after a particular skin. Better off just selling them in the store .

You can't calculate it because the skins are not anti duplicate!

So you can get the same one over and over and over again without having all of them! Because I for myself got quite some of them and I pulled 3 of them in 50 chest which where all one that I already had so I just got the compensation...thanks WG✌️
