I switched to mint a couple weeks ago and have been getting things set up and working.
Recently however I have been getting more frustrated that after heading out for the day leaving my 3 monitor setup, with discord on one screen, steam in the middle, and previously Brave web browser though now Firefox on my third monitor, I lock my account and leave it like that when I'm not using it, and when I return after awhile and try to launch a game, the game fails to launch in one way or another, and I've tested with multiple games and with trying to open the terminal or system monitor as well as other programs that I don't have opened, and nothing can open until I reboot. Though I have found that by exiting steam fully, and closing my web browser I am able to open other programs, though normally reopening steam still won't launch a game without restarting the pc first.
I did some research and thought that the issue was due to a low ulimit soft and hard limit, so I set those limits to be higher but the issue has continued to happen and I am at a loss as to why.
I have an Intel processor, and Nvidia 3050 GPU, I have made sure to use the correct drivers for this.
